Without an introduction into these aspects of the immune responsej readers
not familiar with immunology willj for instancejnot understand the relevance
of various cell populations in relation to biological properties of certain
immunoglobulin isotypes. Apart from this minor criticism it will be hard to
find so much valuable information on antibodies in such a small book.
In their foreword the editors express the hope that this book will provide
"a foundation for selfhelp in the achievement of successful examination
results". The expertise and the skill of the author in discussing his
subjects, together with many clear illustrations and nearly 150 reference~
will almost certainly provide a promising start.
