Sat. All members are welcome
to attend. After a successful
year that saw the CTLA grow
and strong demand for Texas
Longhorns translated into new
members and excellent sale
prices, it is time once again to
plan for the coming 12 months,
elect new board members to
replace those whose terms that
are complete and share our
financial information with our
membership.
You will find the AGM Agenda
in this catalog. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank
the board of directors for their
hard work, challenging ideas
and the progress they have
brought to our association. It
has been a pleasure to serve
with all of you.
Clinton Bezan
CTLA President
Watch our website www.ctlalonghorns.com for coming
events and sale catalogs
I would like to welcome everyone to
the third annual CTLA Spring Sale and
Heifer Jackpot. The consignors have
assembled a fine set of cattle for your
appraisal. The bloodlines represented
today offer some of the most up to date
genetics in the industry. Whether they are
bred for color, horn, or beef production,
each has a role to play in a dynamic and
growing industry.
Today’s heifer jackpot marks the begin-
ning of the second Triple Crown Heifer
Futurity. Heifers will accumulate points
in Saskatoon, the CTLA National Show in Red Deer in July and
the Horn Showcase in Ponoka in October. The heifer with the
most points in the series will be awarded the Triple Crown.
This year we have added a two year old class that is open to
heifers that were shown as yearlings last year. Best of luck to
all of the exhibitors. I am sure it will prove to be an enjoyable
and suspenseful series in 2016.
The Canadian Texas Longhorn Association board of directors
are hard- working, forward thinking individuals who dedicate
long hours and tremendous energy to provide our membership
with venues to promote their breeding programs and showcase
their Longhorns. It is with great pride that I, on their behalf,
welcome everyone to enjoy our hospitality, the heifer jackpot
show and the sale.
The CTLA will hold their annual general meeting at 10:00 am

War Dancer is a real nice young bull. He is very calm and eats from your hand. I was
actually on his back a couple of times. War Dancer was born and raised at the ranch
and the 6 calves I brought to this sale are his last years progeny. I am going to miss
him but I want to keep some of his females.

LOT 28
Bulls like Gunslinger don't come along every day. He has as much thickness, muscle and punch as
you can find in the breed and is wrapped in more spots than a red headed boy scout in poison
ivy. His dam is a first calf Win Win daughter out of Mark Maker who sold for $8200 U.S. He
will grow into a bull you will be proud of and leave you with a pasture full of fabulous fe-
males. Birth weight - 58 lbs. For more information on his sire, Fugitive, please visit our web-
site www.canadiantexaslonghorn.com

Winter Hawk is a good stout bull out of a hard working Win Win daugh-
ter. He was inundated in Innisfail and coronated in Coronation but he's never
been to Castor. If covering all the bases makes sense to you, take him home.

We bought this bull to replace our herd sire-decided to use the old bull one
more year and we don't have the numbers for two. He is deep bodied, good
black horn and nice temperament. He certainly could be shown if anyone
wanted a strong yearling bull for the National Show in Red Deer.

structure and unique pedigree. He has two solid reds and 2 solid blacks on his papers
right up close if color has a role to play in your program. He will work on Angus
heifers with his birth weight of 54 lbs. or use him to add predictable genetics to your
herd. This is the first son of Hot Iron offered for sale.
