Running the Readiness Tool Run the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Hygiene Management Software Readiness Tool as an administrator using these steps:
1. Navigate to the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Hygiene Management Software Readiness Tool_[version number].exe file.
2. Right-click on the file and select to Run as administrator or Run with Elevated Privileges to start.

3. Select Continue. The tool checks the computer system for any updates required.

4. Select Continue. The tool prepares the computer system.

5. The tool indicates the computer system is ready or whether additional actions are required to bring the
computer system to readiness for installation of the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Hygiene Management Software.

6. A Report is generated and placed in the output folder. The output folder is available at Desktop\3M Clean-Trace
Readiness Tool.
Re-running the Readiness Tool It is recommended to re-run the readiness tool after addressing any additional actions required to bring your computer
to readiness status. A shortcut to the readiness tool is available in the output folder.

Uninstalling the Readiness Tool Navigate to your Desktop, and delete the 3M Clean-Trace Readiness Tool output folder.

Compatible Operating System Install software on a computer with one of these operating systems:
Windows Desktop 10, 8, 8.1, or 7 (Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions)

Processor Speed Install software on a computer with processor speed of 2.0 GHz or higher.
Free RAM Install software on a computer with free RAM of 1 GB or more (at least 4 GB RAM is recommended).

USB Port Available on Computer Install software on a computer with USB port accessibility for connecting and synchronizing with the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ luminometer.
USB Port Not Blocked Enable a USB port on your computer using your control panel. Software requires USB for communicating with the luminometer.
Computer Restart Pending
Restart your computer before installing the 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Hygiene Management Software. See Appendix B for information on how to resolve this issue if this message persists.
Internet Information Services (IIS) Features Enabled
See Appendix B for information on how to resolve this issue.
IIS Ports Not Blocked
Contact your IT department to ensure that the following ports are not blocked either by firewall or antivirus: 9002, 9003, 9004, and 9005. See Appendix B for information on how to resolve this issue.
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access Installed
Update your Microsoft Access application to version 2013 or higher if you intend to import data from the previous 3M™ Clean-Trace™ Data Trending Software. Download and install Microsoft product from the Microsoft Download site – https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/

APPENDIX B: Additional Steps for Manual Resolution of Issues Contact your IT department for assistance with this section.
Computer Restart Pending
o Follow these steps to resolve a pending restart:
Start regedit.exe
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Save the PendingFileRenameOperations parameter to a backup location
Delete the PendingFileRenameOperations parameter
Reboot and rerun the installation
IIS Ports Not Blocked
o Enable ports in Windows firewall using the following steps:
Click Start, click Run, and type firewall.cpl. This opens the Windows Firewall Control Panel applet.
On Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, follow these steps:
a) Click Advanced settings in the left column of the Windows Firewall window
b) Click Inbound Rules in the left column
c) Click New Rules in the right column
d) Select Port and click Next
e) Select TCP and enter 9002, 9003, 9004, 9005 in the Specific local ports field
f) Click Next
g) Select Allow the connection, and click Next
h) Select Domain and Private, and click Next
i) Name this rule Clean_Trace_Ports, and click Finish
j) Click Outbound Rules and repeat steps c) to h)
McAfee Antivirus Entry in applicationhost.config
o Edit and remove the entry from the applicationHost.config file using the following steps:
Click Start, Run, type explorer and click OK. This will open Windows Explorer.

Open the file applicationHost.config as Administrator for editing in Notepad
Edit the <globalModules> section and remove the following line:

Edit the <modules> section and remove the following line:

Save the file
Restart the IIS server by executing the iisreset command on a Windows Command line
Hidden segment in applicationhost.config
o Edit and remove the entry from the applicationHost.config file using the following steps:
Click Start, Run, type explorer and click OK. This will open Windows Explorer.
Navigate to: %windir%\system32\inetsrv\config
Open the file applicationHost.config as Administrator for editing in Notepad In the ApplicationHost.config file, locate the <requestFiltering> element, and then locate the
<hiddenSegments> element In the <hiddenSegments> element, delete the entry that matches the 3M Clean-Trace directory Save and close the file
Extra <DbProvider/> Entry in machine.config
o Edit and remove the entry from the machine.config file using the following steps:
Navigate to machine.config file at C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config
Create a copy of the file and move the copy to the Windows desktop
Open the file using Notepad and delete the <DbProviderFactories/> empty tag at line number 156
(outlined in red below). Do not modify any of the text between the <DbProviderFactories> and
</DbProviderFactories> tags shown.

Go back to the original machine.config file and rename to machine.config.bak
Copy the modified machine.config from the desktop to
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config. Make sure the file name is
machine.config.
SQL Server Browser Service Status
o Restart the MS SQL Server Browser Service using the following steps:
Click on the Start button
On the Start menu, right-click Computer, and then click Manage
In Computer Management, expand Services and Applications, and then click Services
In the list of services, double-click SQL Server Browser
In the SQL Server Browser Properties window, click Start
Click OK when the service starts
Internet Information Services (IIS) Features Enabled or .NET Framework Feature Enabled
o Use the following steps to manually enable IIS or .NET Framework features:
Select Start -> Control Panel -> Programs
On the left-side panel, select Turn Windows features on or off
Review and enable the components as shown in the following pictures. (Pictures are provided for
