* Air interface, frequencies and peak data rate are dependent on the type of 3G / 4G modem used with MRM-X1000 Gateway. The MRM-X1000 Gateway does not contain an embedded 3G / 4G modem, thus allowing
carrier changes and upgrades for technological advances for new modems released by cellular carriers. Supported 3G / 4G Wireless Modems: (at March 2013*)

Adding Value:At GNCI, we understand that our customers measure the value of the MRM-X1000 gateway not just by its low capital cost. That is why we made it future-proof, easy to install and efficient to operate.
Reliability Matters:Backed by an engineering team that has designed cellular routers since 1998, GNCI knows what it takes make a product fit for your network. No shortcuts are taken either in hardware design or when it comes to the software running on our products.
z The MRM-X1000 gateway is build on the proven and reliable Linux 2.6 kernel.
z Hardware is based on a 200 MHz CPU with generous 32 MB of RAM - more than enough processing power to handle 10 times the throughput that today’s cellular networks can offer.
z A hardware “watchdog” monitors the software and resets the unit should it ever stall.
z The USB port is designed to supply up to 1 Amp, not just the 500mA required by the USB standard: Enough power to ensure reliable 3G modem operation even when maximum transmit power is required.
z The MRM-X1000 gateway can switch USB power on and off through software - an essential detail, because it allows the MRM-X1000 gateway to restart the 3G modem in case of a problem.
Future-proof: With 3G / 4G network technology constantly evolving, the usage of an external USB or ExpressCard/34 3G / 4G modem is essential in protecting your investment. Upgrading is as easy as changing modems. With GNCI’s 11 years of experience with cellular routers, support for newer, faster 3G / 4G networks will never be more than a free firmware update away. Easy to install: Setting up the MRM-X1000 gateway is easy. The built-in web interface with
has ample on-screen help. But that’s not all:
We know that when the MRM-X1000 gateway is installed at a remote location, there will not always be highly technical personnel onsite. So we added a 12 -step LED signal strength indicator to help you find a location with optimum reception. It works like a cell-phone, only more granular. Additional LEDs show whether the MRM-X1000 is online and the status of the LAN port.
Even if the MRM-X1000 gateway were to be misconfigured, recovery is possible. You can
define a “fail-safe” configuration and revert back to it by pushing a button on the unit for 10 seconds. Even a non-technical person can perform that task, saving your technicians a trip to a remote location.
Efficient to operate: GNCI knows that installing 5 MRM-X1000 gateways is very different from managing a fleet of 500 units. That is why we give you choices: A fool-proof web
interface or the power of the command line. Using SSHv2, you can securely gain command line access to fully utilize the power of the underlying Linux operating system. This allows for efficient scripting to manage large deployments.
Any network administrator will be happy to find familiar tools such as tcpdump, traceroute or ping in addition to device-specific programs for RSSI monitoring, firmware upgrades and much more.
Furthermore, your network operations center can monitor the status of your network in real time: the MRM-X1000 gateway supports SNMP to integrate with existing network management systems.
