Wire  Sculptures  

Andy  Warholl.    Andy  photographs  are  very  unique  and  different  to  any  other  ar3st.  He  uses  celebri3es  or  icons  to  design  his  work  

Antony  Gormley.  Meniscus,  2003    What  does  the  work  communicate?  Has  it  got  a  meaning?  Isi  t  telling  a  story?  Does  it  serve  a  purpose?  Has  the  ar3st  worked  from  memory  or  real  life?    The  formal  elements  Colour-­‐Form-­‐Line-­‐Shape-­‐Space  

Is  it  a  telling  a  story?  It.  feels  very  sta3c.  The  picture  looks  like  a  ac3on  shot  from  a  movie  or  it  looks  like  a  frozen  moment.  Maybe  Antony  took  a  ac3on  shot  of  a  person  and  then  turned  it  in  to  a  wire  sculpture  Does  it  have  a  meaning?  Yes,  it  does  have  a  meaning.  The  work  is  made  up  from  lots  of  liTle  parts,  humans  are  physically  made  up  from  parts  (bones  and  all  the  way  down  to  par3cles).  Our  lives  are  also  made  up  from  liTle  parts.    Is  it  serving  a  purpose?  Its  serving  a  purpose  by  represen3ng  a  shell  of  a  human  being.  Has  the  ar:st  worked  from  real  life  or  memory?  The  ar3st  could  of  worked  from  both.  He  could  have  had  a  thought  about  a  man  standing  there  in  ac3on.  However  he  could  of  also  took  a  picture  of  a  man  walking,  running  or  even  dancing  then  he  sculptured  the  picture  in  to  wire.

Paper  Sculptures.  

                         Peter  Callesen  Colour-­‐  This  photograph  is  very  dull  with  a  hint  of  red.  It  has  a  pink  background  to  show  the  person  in  the  frame.  Also  its  pink  cause  most  people  are  the  colour  pink.    Form-­‐  The  form  of  the  photograph  is  very  unusual    because  its  one  piece  of  paper  but  its  3D.    He  used  a  piece  of  paper,  turned  it  into  a  2D  then  a  3D  work.    Tone-­‐  The  only  tone  in  this  picture  is  the  tone  of  pink,  white  and  red.  Shape-­‐  This  picture  is  shaped  as  a  person,  the  frame  has  been  cut  out  in  to  a  person.  The  person  in  the  frame  looks  naked,  he  looks  like  he  has  ripped  off  his  clothes  and  they  are  hanging.  Space-­‐  The  space  in  front  of  the  2D  part  of  the  work  is  very  important  because  it  allows  the  skin  to  hang.  Texture-­‐  The  surface  is  very  smooth  which  allows  the  shadows  to  fall  clearly.  

What  does  the  work  communicate?  Has  it  got  a  meaning?  This  work  is  talking  about  stripping  off  someone  un3l  you  get  to  the  real  person  in  side.  Is  it  telling  a  story?  This  picture  is  telling  a  story.  Its  telling  a  story  about  a  man  who  pulled  his  skin  on  and  hanging  it  from  his  hands.  Its  talking  about  human  beings  being  mul3  layered.      Does  it  serve  a  purpose?  The  purpose  it  shows  is  does  not  maTer  how  many  layers  you  have,  the  real  person  will  come  out  soon  enough.  It  is  a  decora3ve  art  work.  Has  the  ar:st  worked  from  memory  or  real  life?  I  think  the  ar3st  has  worked  both  ways  memory  and  real  life.  Something  like  this  could  of  actually  happened  in  real  life  or  he  could  of  thought  about  it.  I  can  tell  cause  the  story  is  that  does  not  maTer  how  much  you  act  and  not  be  yourself,  all  those  layers  will  slowly  fall  off  and  the  real  person  will  appear  sooner  or  later.
