3d-p in action case study -machine production counter
TRANSCRIPT
• Small mine was operating without a fleet management system
• Relied on driver logs to determine trips to the dump, hopper, etc. per shift
• They were using this information to manually for stockpile management
Customer Scenario
• Time-consuming process• Logs were often incomplete or missing• Quantities & classifications of stockpiles were always wrong• FMS was deemed to expensive
• Is there a better way to collect this information?
• Location aware application on each Intelligent Endpoint

Geofence zone
(1)• Geofence zones defined around each stockpile(2)• Server application to receive messages and log in SQL dB(3)
Each time a haul truck entered a pre-defined geofence zone, the application transmits a message to the server application with vehicle ID, zone ID, location & time stamp. This is logged in a SQL dB which can be queried.
Improved data – stockpile quantities and classifications now accurate
More data – cycle times can now also be tracked
Improved efficiencies – no need to need to manually compile logs
Improved productivity – drivers spend their time travelling instead of logging
Benefits
Low cost, high gain• No new hardware • Over the air upload• Better data• More data• Less effort
