Special shapes types such as cold rolled sec-tions can be easily created by creating a 2Dpolyline cross section, then a complete shapecatalogue can be generated with parametricdescriptions and databases.By combining individual plates into parametricrelationships you can derivecomplete Welded Beams which can be modi-fied via grips at a later time.

You can of course create plates of any contourby simply picking points or selecting 2DPolylines and then easily modify as you like.

Uniform DialoguesAll dialogue boxes have a consistent design andbehaviour. Commonly used commands arefound in the same location.With the implementation of Tool Tips and intelli-gent dialogue graphics which adapt to your in-put, it is now virtually unnecessary to look at anyhelp files or user manuals. An on demand, inte-grated calculator now allows calculations dur-ing data input. Our ProSteel 3D Templates canbe sorted as you prefer and recurring entries canbe generated with a single press of a button.

You can create your own li-braries of nearly all thecommonly available Inter-national Sh-ape databases.All Shape data is stored ineasy to maintain databa-ses. You can also createyour own Shape databasesat any time. You can alsocontrol which shape data-bases you wish to use inyour current session.

An on demand, Rollup mechanism permits thisdialogue boxes to reduce to the Title Bar whenthe mouse is moved away, this provides a clearview of your design.

Fully automatic positioning determines the po-sition number of components by means of anefficient identification of identical parts of groupsand single parts.An intelligent distribution algorithm takes carethat the position flags will be arranged withoutcollisions. You can control the rules of positionflag placement during this process.

Structure of position flags

Design and content of the position flags displayedin 2D drawings can be completely controlled.Separate styles are possible for each type ofcomponent.They are stored together with preset values fordistribution. As well as the standard flags, youmay also use unique individual flags.

A structured display of the blocks is possible ifyou assign user-defined data fields foreach block. A logical search of blocks is alsopossible via the use of filters.

Styles for 2D detailing

2D detailing is controlled by assigning Detailstyles, these describe how the details will look,including labels and dimensions. Decide for your-self how the 2D viewsof parts will be displayed.A preview window immediately shows you theresult of the particular detail style you have se-lected or values you have used.

ProSteel 3D has an intelligent browser, DetailCenter, this acts as a central point forviewing, assigning and processing yourmodel.You can order your objects by parts,group and types using filtering and sorting fea-tures.The Detail Center allows you to create drawingsof single parts, groups and verviewsautomatically.

Express- Detailing

The detailing process is further enhanced byusing the DetailCenter Express wizard. This toolallows you to detail an entire model by using ascript processing technique.Each part or group drawing is created on a sepa-rate sheet at an optimum scale.

Parts List Generation

Creation of Parts Lists

ProSteel 3D produces part lists in two steps.Firstly an external dBASE file is derived from yourmodel this file is then used by an external appli-cation to generate part lists and reports. ProSteel3D has an easy to use reporting application in-cluded to achieve this.You may also use other industry standard appli-cations to manipulate and create reports fromthe dBASE file.

Display and Output

ProSteel 3D includes an efficient form designerwhich allows you to place the data into any formyou like.Create an individual form for structural lists, pro-duction lists, material or cut lists. Output filesasPDF, RTF, HTML etc. are possible as well.We have included a collection of sample reportsso that you can start work immediately.
