Overall 100 vehicles crossed from Torkham and Chaman/Spin Boldak borders. Majority of the returnees used Pickups and Trucks (74% and 6% respec�vely) to return to Afghanistan. Cash & Household Items were reported as highest priority assets for migrants returning to Afghanistan.

In Torkham, ‘Economic Factors’ is trending slightly downwards and 67% of therespondents cited this as a push factor (decrease of 3 percentage points compared to last week). ‘Returning Home’ is also trending downwards and 62% of the respon-dents cited this a push factor (decrease of 5 percentage points compared to last week). ‘Afraid of Being Deported’ increased to 27% (increase of 10 percentage points compared to last week). ‘Lack of Documenta�on’ is trending downwards and 5% of the respondents cited this as a push factor (decrease of 1 percentage point compared to last week).Whereas none of the respondents at Torkham cited ‘Camp Closure’ as a push factor.

In Chaman, ‘Returning Home’ is trending downwards and is at 56% (decrease of 3 percentage points compared to last week). ‘Afraid of Being Deported’ is trending upwards and is at 22% (increase of 17 percentage points compared to last week) . ‘Economic Factors’ is trending downwards and is at 16% (decrease of 11 percentage points compared to last week). Whereas none of the respondents at Chaman report-ed ‘Camp Closure’ and ‘Lack of Documenta�on’ as a push factor.

The indicator rated as the main pull factor for both border crossing points was ‘Own Country’. This was reported by 86% of the respondents at Torkham and 78% of the respondents at Chaman. The second highest concern was ‘Reunion with Family / Rela�ves’ which was reported by 62% of the respondents at Torkham and 22% of the respondents at Chaman.

Whereas none of the respondents at Torkham and Chaman reported ‘Availability of Assistance in Afghanistan’ or ‘Improvement in Security Situa�on’ as a pull factor at both border crossing points.

Overall 84% of Undocumented Afghan returnees from this week lived in rented houses, whereas 8% reported living in a ‘sponta-neous se�lements’, and 6% reported living in camp where remaining 2% reported living with rela�ves.

There are differences at the provincial level where for exam-ple in Sindh 100%, and in Baloch-istan 91% in KP 76% and in Punjab 77% of Undocumented Afghan returnees reported living in rented houses.

In punjab, 23% of the Undocu-mented Afghan returnees report-ed living in spontaneous se�le-ments compared to 8% in KP and none in Balochistan and Sindh.
