Developing student resilience
in accommodation settings
AMOSSHE annual supportersIn 2017 AMOSSHE is kindly supported by:
Themed group
interventionsUniversity of Stirling’s project pilots
a programme of themed interventions (group workshops / support groups) in
university residences, to address key issues at particular times of the year, such as
coping with stress, understanding homesickness, and managing
difficult relationships.
Supporting care leavers
Anglia Ruskin University’s project assesses the resilience levels of
student care leavers in both university and private accommodation, with the aim of
developing a needs-based support package to increase resilience and
improve retention.
Student-led interventions
Kingston University’s project researches and pilots student-led
interventions in university accommodation to develop students’ resilience over time.
The project looks at what prevents or encourages students to integrate, from
positive social relationships and access support networks.
Using the Mind
resilience programmeBournemouth University’s project aims to develop a resilience course for students in
residences, co-produced with students, based on Mind’s ‘Service Design
in Mind’ toolkit.
AMOSSHE, supported by Unite Students, is funding four new member-led Student Services projects about developing student resilience in accommodation settings. AMOSSHE Insight is our committment to research and development. Find out more: www.amosshe.org.uk/projects
