ADORATION

The Adoration Chapel is open for prayer! Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-11:30AM each week until further notice. Please call the parish office to pre-register, as attendance is limited to a group of eight people for 30 minutes.

The Adoration Chapel will be sanitized before and after each group of eight enters. Face masks are required and all present must ensure social distancing by remaining at least 6 feet apart at all times.

DAILY MASS

The church will be open for daily Mass Monday through Friday at 9:00AM. Daily Mass does not require a sign up at this time, however, the Masses will follow the same procedural guidelines as the weekend Masses (limited to 100 people, masks & social distancing required). For the remainder of June, Daily Mass will be televised on KNXT channel 9 and 49 and available on the parish website .

INFORMATION ON THE RE-OPENING OF HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH

The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass is still in place. Those who are part of a vulnerable population and/or have an underlying health condition are encouraged to stay home and join the Church by viewing live-streamed Masses which continue to be available on our website and on KNXT, Channel 9 or 49. Monday through Friday at 9:00AM and Sunday at 10:00AM.

The parish is following guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the C.D.C., local agencies and the Diocese of Fresno, has implemented social distancing measures and is thoroughly sanitizing the premises between Masses, all of which facilitate a safe and measured reopening to create an environment that will minimize the adverse impact of the virus on society.

However, despite such precautions, the risks associated with transmission of COVID-19 remain prevalent. By entering the premises you knowingly and voluntarily assume the risk

Due to limited space, we are requiring parishioners to sign up for a specific Mass time. We are limited to 100 people in the church as well as 100 people in the hall for Mass on Saturday at 4:00PM and Sunday 8:00AM, 10:00AM and 12:00PM.

Anyone arriving late to Mass will not be allowed to enter. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

ENTHUSIASM AND GRAMMAR There is a good reason that the writings of St. Paul don’t show up as examples in grammar textbooks. Today’s reading is a case in point. It begins with one of those long Pauline run on sentences that leave lectors gasping for breath. So what? Take a closer look at how Paul’s fervor for his subject matter derails the grammar. There is something admirable about being so caught up in his convictions that the words cannot come fast enough to express them, much less in an orderly fashion. Scripture scholars usually take this grammatical ineptness as a sign of a passage’s early importance in the Christian community, something they were so ardent about that their language never got refined. What leaves us in this condition? Re-telling the plot line of an action movie or the play-by-play of a sporting event? When was the last time any of us was so excited by our faith in Christ that we were left grasping for words, stumbling over our own errors in speech? It may be bad grammar, but it is an excellent way to inspire others with the message of Christ!
