TARGET AUDIENCEThis conference is directed to primary care providers who wish to improve their knowledge and application of current practice in common cardiovascular diseases.

EDUCATIONAL PURPOSEThis conference is designed to present new and updated information on cardiology topics relevant to primary care practitioners. Methods to diagnose, manage and prevent heart disease continue to advance and change rapidly. Content will address clinical conditions commonly seen in primary care practice including arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and valvular heart disease. Cardiac risk factors such as lipid disorders, obesity, diabetes and stress will be covered along with newer interventional techniques for the management of cardiovascular disease.

This conference will focus on common clinical problems seen in daily practice and will provide practitioners with information, methods and strategies to improve their ability to treat patients with cardiovascular disease.

EDUCATIONAL METHODSLecture with Q and A sessions and case presentations will facilitate the dissemination of information. Interactive workshops and roundtable discussions are included to facilitate a more in-depth understanding of certain clinical issues. Pre/post tests will be given to help attendees ascertain the level of learning being achieved. Faculty have been selected on the basis of their comprehensive clinical experience, academic excellence and presentation skills.
