The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ:
June 7th. The bishops’ stewardship pastoral asks, “And what do Christians bring to the Eucharistic celebration and join there with Jesus’ offering?” The answer: “Their lives as Christian dis-ciples; their personal vocations and the stewardship they have exercised regarding them; their individual contributions to the great work of restoring all things in Christ.”

PASTOR’S MESSAGE
Dear parishioners of Our Lady of Peace Parish,
For a long time of our Catholic tradition, every parish had
celebrated Corpus Christ in a very solemn way with pro-
cession of the Eucharist outside the church, in many parts
of the world the Catholic parishes still keep going this
wonderful tradition. I had an imprinted memory of this
joyful celebration from my youth.
Since I came to Canada parishes where I have lived do not
practice this tradition, except Mass in the church. During
my fourteen years as a priest I was able to organize the
celebration of Corpus Christ with the procession of the
Eucharist outside the church only once in the occasion of
the 50th anniversary of one of the parishes where I served.
Since 2010 I have been assigned as the pastor of Tri-
parish: Canadian Martyrs, Good Samaritan, St. Charles
and now Our Lady Of Peace, I wish that I may be able to
organize the celebration of Corpus Christ with the proces-
sion of the Eucharist and celebrate mass outside the
church. However I do not know if it will happen.
No matter what kind of celebration we may do, the most
important that all of us must be aware of the precious gift
of the Eucharist that Jesus gives to each one of us and for
the whole Church out of his great love for us. St. Pope
John Paul II insists that the Eucharist is the life of the
Church. We must remember Jesus' word: "Very truly I tell
you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink
his blood, you have no life in you. Those who eat my flesh
and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them
up on the last day." (Jn 6.53-54)
As parishioners, sharing the Eucharist we are united in one
body. It means that through the Eucharist we remain unit-
ed with Jesus and with one another in our faith communi-
ty, as well as with others in the whole Church, no room for
division. May the Holy Spirit help us to appreciate the gift
of the Eucharist and frequently come to benefit from it.
Sincerely yours in Christ Fr. Peter Thang Nguyen
