Information Types - EIT and SIT

Overview

• Apart from Key and Descriptive flexfields, Oracle HRMS allows you to create information types to store additional information. These information types are generally available for a particular window, which carry their own title.

• For example, you can design an information type for people window to store “Company car details”, which would store following segments:

• Model

• Make

• Year of manufacturing

• Mileage run

• There are two types of information types, Special Information Type (SIT) and Extra Information type (EIT)

Special Information Type (SIT)

• SIT is a Key flexfield, which enables you to set up

user defined fields for recording additional

information.

• Personal Analysis key flexfield need to be used to

configure SIT.

• SITs are dated, it means each SIT combination will

have start and end date.

• SITs can be configured for Jobs and Positions.

• Once SIT is configured, it needs to be enabled for a

particular entity such as Job and Position.

Extra Information Type (EIT)

• EIT is a type of descriptive flexfield, which enables you to set up user defined fields to record additional information.

• Oracle HRMS allows to configure EITs for entities such as Job, Position, Person, Assignment, Location, Organization and Contacts.

• EITs generally do not have start and end date.

• To set up EITs, following activities need to be performed:• Create EIT

• Register EIT

• Set up Security
