Principals Report

Hello everyone,

And the business end of the semester is upon us, with

lots of testing going on for students and teachers. This is

the best part of the semester, when we really see just

how far our students have grown in two short terms. It is

a rewarding part of our careers.

This week we have a lot to share and celebrate in student

sporting achievements. Our cross country team went out

in the cold and the mud to compete against other schools

in the region at Yarrambat Park. I am so proud of

everyone who competed and gave it their all. Everyone

was a winner, just for being there and having a go.

Special mention to Ava, who won her age group and the

Ashton who came in 7th, both will progress to district

cross country on June 13th. Good luck to you both! The

results were as followed.

9-10 yr old boys:

Bailey 21st, Tyler R 34th, Matt 42nd, Hamish 53rd, Jacob

58th,Zayden 82nd, Stevie 83rd

9-10 yr old girls:

Ava B 1st, Polly 18th, molly 60th

11 yr boys:

Cooper 35th

11 yr old girls:

Anabelle 11th, Emily B 16th, Lily 29th

12 yr old boys:

Ashton 7th, Declan 17th

A big congratulations to both Ava and Anabelle for winning

the Kinglake Fun Run over the weekend in their age group.

A wonderful effort in front of a home grown crowd!

Another amazing Kinglake Primary sports person is Hamish,

coming 6th in the novice 8-9 yr old BMX competition at

Lilydale over the weekend. Hamish had to compete in 3

rounds before contesting in the finals. Well done Hamish!

From all accounts the visit to the Melbourne Zoo was a huge

hit and didn’t the weather turn it on for us! Everyone had

their favourite animal to talk about and even though we had

some very tired people, including volunteers and teachers, it

was a wonderful experience. Thanks again Mrs Mac for

organising it.

Tomorrow we are holding our school tours and story time in

Yackatoon. We have so much to be proud of in our little

school. We offer students a wonderful and rich education,

so we want as many people to come and visit us as possible.

If you know of anyone who may wish to visit and join the

tour, please let them know the details on the attached flyer.

Our lovely Di will be taking long service leave and heading

overseas for a well deserved trip. Susie and myself will be

holding the fort while Di is away. We wish you peace,

relaxation and many memories from your travels Di and we

will see you in Term Three.

Have a great weekend!
