100% of the Golf Tournament proceeds support community youth.”
Over the past 4 years, the Optimist Club of St. Andrews-Irmo donated $100,000 to local youth oriented chari-ties and programs. And with the help of many neighbors, friends and businesses, we donated $24,500 in 2014 alone as a result of our Christmas Tree Sales and Golf Tournament. As a local civic organization, we also accomplished many other things to benefit local youth last year. • Partnered with McGregor Presbyterian Church to raise and supply over $120,000 in food to the SNACKPACK pro-
gram in 5 Lex/Rich5 schools, 5 Richland One schools, 3 Vital Connections and 3 schools in Newberry County. • Partnered with District 5 and Walmart for a weekend STUFF A BUS drive for SNACKPACK and received 10,000+
school supplies for kids in need. • Partnered with Palmetto Project to provide 83 people with Christmas gifts and food for the Families Helping Families
program. Individual club members also adopted and provided for another 14 families. • Commissioned design & development of a new building for our Christmas tree lot built by students from the District 5
CATE Center. • Sponsored and hosted over 50 local students at the Ray Tanner Foundation Home Run. Over 600 students for the
past 9 years. • Volunteered hundreds of hours for Home Works, Challenging Horizons cookout for kids, Families Helping Families
phone bank/warehouse, Arbor Day and at food drives & distributions.
