Mayor Marianne Matichuck & City of Greater Sudbury Council PO Box 5000, STN' A', 200 Brady St. Sudbury, ON Canada P3A 5P3

Dear Mayor Matichuck and Council,

It is with much anticipation that I pen this letter of support for the ren.aming of the Chelmsford Paramedic Station.

When I heard from Jennifer Amyotte, the Commander of the Community Health and Professional Standards at the City of Greater Sudbury Emergency Services- that they were considering a request to officially change the name ofthe Chelmsford Paramedic Station to the Private Andre Miller Ambulance Station, I was completely on side.

We are all aware of Private Miller's ultimate sacrifice for our country and I think the renaming ofthe Chelmsford facility would be an important gesture by this community to honour his sacrifice.

As outlined in by-law 2004-303, all requests fqr the naming of a facility shall be in writing with letters of support to provide evidence of substantial community support for the proposed name change. I am very confident that you will find community wide support for this dedication to Private Miller and I am more than happy to gather more names of community leaders who would be in support of such a name change. ·

Private Miller utilized the Chelmsford Ambulance Station as a clinical observer arid aspired to become a Sudbury paramedic upon his completion of military duty. While he will not return to fulfill that dream, we can help remember his dedication to the paramedic field by naming this facility in his h~nour.

I support this dedication to Private Miller 100 percent. We as a community cannot forget the ultimate sacrifice of Private Miller as well as the other brave men and women who gave their lives in Afghanistan along with any other military role or action. We owe it to them to never forget and I think this is a dedication that should be done without question.

rther information from me, please do not hesitate to con'tact me at 705-673-7107.
