TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

WARNING Pressure Relief Procedure To reduce the risk of serious bodily injury from fluid injection, splashing in the eyes or on the skin, or moving parts, always follow this procedure whenever you shut off the pump and before inspecting, removing, cleaning or repair- ing any part of the pump or dispensing system.

(1) Close the pump's air regulator. (2) Close the pump's bleed-type master ail valve, or detach the quick disconnect coupler (required in system). (3) Open the dispensing valve until pressure IS fully relieved.

If you suspect that the dispensing valve is clogged, or that pressure has not been fully relieved after following the steps above, VERY SLOWLY loosen the dispensing valve coupling or hose end coupling and relieve pressure gradually, then loosen completely. Now clear the obstruction.

Before you start any repair : 1. Be sure you have all the necessary repair parts on

hand, including the available repair kits, to reduce down time. See the repair instructions and the parts lists pages for kits.

2. If possible, flush the pump. 3. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure Warning,

above. 4. Disconnect the hoses and remove the pump from its

mounting. Secure the air motor base in a vise.

NOTE: If repairing just the intake valve and/or piston packings, go to Displacement Pump, page 9.

5. Using a strap wrench on the displacement cylinder (16), screw it out of the base.

6. Pull the connecting rod down as far as it will go. Use a hammer and punch to remove the roll pin 14) from the piston rod ( 4 4 1 . See Fig 2.
