The Music Express ranked the Dissidenten album Sahara Elektrik among the 100 most importantGerman records of all time. The album sold several million copies worldwide. The title track FataMorgana was a hit from Toronto to Cairo and Rio. Other Dissidenten projects had a seminal inuence as well:In Bollywood 1993, Dissidenten produced The Jungle Book,a trailblazing concept album which reects their years of

experience with South Indian music.

Remixes of their album Instinctive Traveler featuring DJsSven Vth and Shantel were internationally acclaimed andinspired the live CD series Dissidenten remix.ed.

In cooperation with several European orchestras and choirsDissidenten developed the documentary opera The Memory ofthe Waters which is performed internationally since 2000.

Today, Dissidentens global pop sounds are particularly relevant. During the festival tour 2010, the grouppresented their latest album Tanger Session live before more than 350,000 listeners in Western

Europe, Russia, Asia and Arabia. With biting sound and timely political commentary they show that evenafter three decades, they are still the pioneers of the genre. Together with groups like Kraftwerk orEinstrzende Neubauten, Dissidenten continue to spearhead the German avant-garde.

In 2011, Dissidenten will celebrate their 30-year anniversary, with an exciting stage show featuring manyof their longtime companions.
