VISUAL INTERPRETATIONCreate a visual interpretation (tiny poster) of the book that includes:

– The title (underlined of course)– The author– A “Golden Line” (a great quote from the book that hooks the reader or

captures the theme or an “essential flavor” of the story)– A drawing, collage, or comic that conveys the mood, theme, characters,

setting, or a pivotal turning point in the book (You get to be creative – no printing from the Internet!)

– Your name!– The poster should be the size of the box on the back of this handout– The poster will be displayed—along with the rest of the students’—in

the front hall after the book walk for all to enjoy!

3-LINE BOOK TALKWrite an intriguing 3-line book talk that gets your audience excited about the book. Your book talk should include:

– Set them up: What’s the most interesting thing about the book?– Only share the most important details.– Leave them hanging: What will they want to findout?– See the “How to do a Book Talk” handout for more details!
