converting inches to feet and markdots on the grass at the edges of thedesign (I like to use inverted spraychalk or blue to do the initial lay-out) Repeat the graph using stringand long nails going back and forthuntil the graph is completed Bylooking at the drawing note whereeach line crosses a grid and dupli-cate it on the grass by painting aline gradually connecting the shapeof the logo
I like to use the inverted aerosolcans to differentiate the different col-ors and features Once the logo hasbeen completed you can brighten itusing your airless sprayer
This method takes a lot of set uptime but without hiring a sign shop tolay it out on a tarp it is the most accu-rate way to create the design quickly
Probably the most popularmethod of painting on athletic turf isthe stencil on a heavy plastic or tarpThese are readily available frommost athletic paint suppliers I high-ly recommend that you use them if

A five-point star can be developedin a couple of ways (see diagram 2)The angle is 72 degrees if you are ableto acquire that measurement It alsohas five lines of equal distance
One of the easiest methods is topaint a circle the diameter of the star(Use spray chalk for this so no trace ofthe circle remains when the design iscompleted) The best way to describethe process is using a 76 ratioMultiply the radius of the circle by 7and then divide by 6
For example on a circle with a 9-foot radius youd have 9 feet X 7 = 63feet divided by 6 = 105 feet Start atthe top of the circle and measure toeach side of the circle until the 105foot mark intersects with the arcRepeat from that point to the next105 foot mark until each of the fivepoints of the star is marked (See dia-gram below)Another way to paint logos is to
make a plywood cut out of the designand piece it together These forms arevery durable but take up lots of stor-age space Foam core works well alsobut can blow around in the wind andusually last for only one or two appli-cations These work best when paint-ing on synthetic fields where detail is

converting inches to feet and markdots on the grass at the edges of thedesign (I like to use inverted spraychalk or blue to do the initial lay-out) Repeat the graph using stringand long nails going back and forthuntil the graph is completed Bylooking at the drawing note whereeach line crosses a grid and dupli-cate it on the grass by painting aline gradually connecting the shapeof the logo
