Activating CDMAFor CDMA devices, you need to associate the device radio with yourcellular service account so the radio connects to the service provider'scellular network. Before activating, contact your carrier to setup anaccount, check signal strength on LEDs and in the device UI. Ensure thedevice is receiving a strong signal. To activate your account:

1. From Cellular, select Activation. Note: The device'scurrent activation status is displayed, either ACTIVATED orNOT ACTIVATED. Also, a message appears below statusthat shows the device radio as activated or not.

2. If the device is not activated, follow the instruction for yourspecific carrier below. Each carrier activation is different.

a. Sprint: Uses an Over-The-Air activation process thatautomatically attempts to activate the radio once youarrive at the Activation window. For details onactivating using AT commands see the SprintActivation Guide for EV3/C2.

b. Verizon: Uses a one-click activation process. Click theActivate button. For details on activating using ATcommands see the Verizon Activation Guide forEV3/C2.

c. Aeris: Enter the MDN and MSID/MIN. Then click theActivate button. For details on activating using ATcommands see the Aeris Activation Guide for EV3/C2.

■ After the activation starts, a messagedisplays at the top of the screen that it is inprogress.

■ Once the activation completes, a messageappears at the top of the screen that itsucceeded or failed.

3. To verify the radio is activated, go to Verify Activation, enter an IP Address or URL, and use the default NetworkInterface as Radio. Click the PING button.

■ The device uses the cellular radio connection toping a server.

■ Once the ping completes, a message appears atthe top of the screen that it succeeded or failed.
