Functions of the blood
Blood performs two major functions:1.Transport through the body of
oxygen and carbon dioxide
food molecules (glucose, lipids,amino acids)
ions (e.g., Na+, Ca2+ , HCO3)
wastes (e.g. : urea)
hormones Heat ( maintain the body
temperature at 37oC)

Liquid part of the blood
A pale yellowish liquid
90 % of it is water. The rest aredissolved subs. which include
nutrients, Proteins & mineral salts

4.Can be stored at 5oC for 10 days inrefrigerator (Blood bank)
