What have you learned from your audience feedback?

• Audience feedback is important as they are the consumers of the media products and I am working to meet and appeal to their needs. In the process of editing the video I called people to watch parts of it so I could know what parts should kept in or what parts should be taken out. To get the audience feedback a screening was held and a few people sat down and watched my music video, they all gave their opinions of the music video and I made a note of them. They gave improvements and positive points. The audience giving constructive criticism will help me improve the next time and make it better.

For my ancillary task I also showed my audience my media product. The feedback I received allowed me to make a much a better and professional looking product.

• I was told that my initial front cover made the artist seem upset and made the audience feel unwanted and like she does not want them to purchase her CD. Another member of my target audience stated that even though the song that is being promoted is a quite depressing song the artist shouldn’t reflect that mood as well. Also what was said was that the font used “didn’t make sense” and didn’t really seem like something that she be used to promote this type of artist.

• The feedback given in order to improve for the poster was that it was quite plain and it doesn’t really catch their eyes. me person said if they were to see this around they wouldn’t pay much attention to it. Another said that the two ancillary products do not link and looks like two different things are being advertised.

I took all of their feedback as not a stressful task but as a positive thing and used it to my advantage. • I started over again and came

up with my final products which I am quite happy about. I then showed the same people who had given me the previous feedback for my first attempts and they were also happy with my product and the fact I listened to them and took their advice and incorporated it into my finished piece.

Getting audience feedback made me realise that it is important to listen to them as they are viewers and they know what they want and will buy. The improvements will help my product sell.
