This report includes the activities taking place at Orran-Yerevan for the months of January to June.

1. 1. GENERAL REMARKS
During this reporting period, the total number of the daily beneficiaries at Orran Yerevan increased to 164. The table below shows the details:

The following changes in the daily meal program took place:
Thirty (30) new children were accepted and assigned accordingly into junior, middle and senior
groups. Some are in the meal program only. During this semester, thirty-two (32) children left
the program.
During December, one hundred seven (107) children were at Orran. Seven of them were in
the daily meal program, eight in the individualized one.
During this semester, there have been changes in the number of fifty-two (52) elderly. Seven (7)
elderly beneficiaries were accepted and two (2) left the program.

1. 2. Academic Assistance to Children 1.1. 2.1. Classes and Handicraft Workshops
2.1.1 Classes The department of education held weekly meetings to discuss individual cases and addressed
organizational issues and problems.
Orran’s children are divided into 3 groups according to their age group. Each group is led by a teacher who is responsible for overseeing the daily preparation of the children’s homework, and their involvement in educational and cultural events. Volunteers assist the teachers. The table below gives the details of the groups in December.
During this semester, there was a new teacher for the middle group, Mariam Sedrakyan. Orran's
teachers together with the social worker, regularly visited the schools fo the beneficiary children.

During this semester, the academic department initiated meetings with the parents of
Orran beneficiaries.
On June 4, a parents' meeting took place at Orran, during which Orran-Parent
agreements were renewed, and members of the professional team talked about attendance,
hygiene, educational and handicraft programs. They also discussed the progress and
achievements of the children at school. Parents took an active part in the meeting and raised
their concerns.

During this semester, Orran’s children were active in handicraft classes.

In mid July, a sewing workshop opened at Orran. The Hovhannisyan of the US bought sewing
machines and fabric for the opening of the workshop.
Jonathan and Ani Hovhannisyan, Eagle Scouts, during the first session of the wokshop, made soft
toys, pillows with the Orran's children. The children were happy to participate in the sewing
workshop. We thank the Hovhannisyan family for providing such an opportunity for Orran's
children.
From September 7 to October 7, a charity exhibition was organized in the foyer of Marriott

Armenia hotel. Presented were hand-made works of Orran children both from Yerevan and
Vanadzor as well as works of needy children from the regions who were participating in HSBC
Bank's Youth opportunities program. By buying the children's work, people contributed to
making one child from a vulnerable family happy and changing his/her life for the better. We
would like to thank Marriott Armenia hotel for their support.

3. Cultural Education 3.1. Events
During this six-month period, Orran hosted a number of events. Orran children were also invited to participate in cultural events outside of Orran. The photos below provide an overview of the events.
On June 22, Orran celebrated Vardavar. The folk group "Vostan" joined us at Orran with
beautiful songs and dances. As a tradition of the holiday, children poured out water with rose
petals. We thank "Vostan" for a great, memorable day.
On June 22, Orran staff made a working visit to Machanents House Art School in Echmiadzin,
conducted a tour and enjoyed a happy, productive day.
From July 1-7, the International Summer Media Camp was held in Kobuleti, Georgia, as part of
the"About Me, Capacity and Relationships for Wider Inclusion" project, Six (6) students of the
"Journalists' Club" both from Yerevan and Vanadzor and 3 staff members of Orran attended the

camp. The program was effective in terms of improving educational and communicative skills. It
also offered exciting activities, excursions and learning opportunities.
On the day of cultural presentation, Orran's participants together with "Bridge of Hope" NGO
presented videos about Armenia, and sang songs.
During the summer camp, media trainings were held for the children, where the participants
learned the process of filming cartoons. The aim was for the participants to conduct various
exercises and sports events. Upon returning from the camp, the participants and staff members
shared their experience with Orran's children by presenting a film about the Media Camp in

On July 24, the A.G.B.U. volleyball team from USA visited Orran. They took a tour of Orran,
visited the classrooms and the workshops, talked to children and decided to play volleyball with
Orran’s team.
On July 27, the A.G.B.U team and Orran children played volleyball at Yerevan center garden.
Orran’s team won 3:1. We thank the A.G.B.U. volleyball team for that wonderfull day.

As every year, this summer being no exception, Orran welcomed volunteers from the diaspora
who worked with Orran students with great dedication and care.
Lara Etikian, Narek Balyan Anis Kevakian and Rita Chakryan from California and Liam Welan
from London participated in Orran's summer program.
Once again, we thank all our volunteers and we are looking forward to seeing you again at Orran.

In July, Armenian singer, Hayberd Saryan, the winner of "Andrenaline" competition, along with
his sister, Sissian and his longtime friend, Gor, from America to visit Orran. They took a tour of
Orran. Hayberd told the children about his career journey and successes, and he gladly responded
to all the questions of the children. At the end of the meeting, Hayberd performed "We are the
world" hit song. When he returned to the United States with unforgettable impressions, Hayberd
wrote a song about Orran with his dad, which can be found here:

In May 2017, Orran organized a mini football charity tournament with different organizations
such as Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia, Fmd K & L Europe, Hsbc Bank Armenia,
Rosgosstrakh-Armenia, Armenian Journalists' Team, Zeppelin Armenia Llc, Gnc-Alfa-
Rostelekom Armenia, participating in the event. Participants gathered around one idea, to help
children in need.
As a wonderful outcome of this charity tournament, Orran's beneficiaries had the opportunity to
spend a wonderful day at the "Water World". In August, Orran's 100 beneficiaries, accompanied
by their teachers and volunteers, spent an exciting and enjoyable time at Water World. Thanks to
all the companies and organizations which participated and provided financial assistance to make
our children's summer holiday more memorable.
As every year, September 1st, was vey active and exciting. The children shared their happiness
and impressions of their first day at school. One of children's favourite company "FROZE"
presented delicious ice cream. We would like thank the head of the company and the employees
for making Orran children happy. We would like to also thank "Tashir Group" for the pleasant
surprise and for the beautiful gifts for the beginning of the new academic year. We are also
grateful to Manoogian-Demirchian Armenian School in California for giving the children new,
beautiful shoes. September 1st is also the birthday of Orran's beloved dog Pax, To celebrate this
occasion, the kids were treated to a tasty birthday cake.

Once again Orran's children were invited to taste the traditional strudel. The event was
organized by the Armenia Marriott Hotel and the Austrian Airlines. At the Kuchina restaurant of
Armenia Mariott Hotel, a delightful bubble show was organized, after which the children were
treated to tasty strudel and were given lovely gifts.

On September 16, Orran's 12th Annual Charity Dinner at Tigran the Great Hall of Marriott Hotel
Armenia, took place. During the evening, ambassadors, political and cultural figures,
businessmen, celebrities, mass media and friends of Orran were invited to a concert performed by
Orran's elderly choir and beneficiaries. We thank all the organizations and individuals who
graciously contribute to change the lives of Orran's beneficiaries.

On October 1, Orran's fifth annual charity dinner took place in Glendale. Famous artists,
musicians, politicians, businesspersons gathered to participate in the event and to offer support to
children who are in need. This year's series of featured live auction items included Serj Tankian’s
guitar, Shavo Odadjian’s necklace and John Dolmayan's painted cymbalWe thank all the people
who made their contribution and donated money to help this noble cause.

“Mathematics and the PC” class students from Orran NGO visited the 13th Digitec Expo held in
Yerevan. The purpose of the biggest regional technology Expo was to provide a good
environment for high technology companies, business and general consumers, strengthen the

international cooperation, present current success of the local IT sector, introduce the
achievements as well as the challenges and the sphere development perspectives.
The Orran beneficiaries met and communicated with Zangi company founder Mr.Vahram
Martirosyan.
On October 7, 2017 the Russian telecommunication MTS company staff representatives visited
Orran to present an interactive puppet show entitled "The Econeshka`s Adventures". During the
performance, the children gained information about the ways modern technologies can help to
protect our nature from disasters. They also learned about the importance of taking care of each
flower or plant growing in the forests.
On October 14, Orran's children took part in "Erebuni-Yerevan 2799" festive events, which took
place in the park near the Yerevan Municipality.

On October 19, Orran's students participated in a master class "Adventurous Engineering"
organized by the Armenian National Engineering Laboratories (ANEL) experienced specialists.
During the lesson, the following issues were discussed: engineering, engineering types, elements
of the scheme, application of digital multimedia, etc. The children strengthened their knowledge
with laboratory experiments.
There were 2 seminar-discussions with Orran's staff. The first one took place on October 21 and
the second one on November 18. The topic of the discussion was the effective participation of
each employee in Orran's programs, review, revision and clarification of functions.

On October 24, the Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT (AITC), in partnership with
the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and GOOGLE, organized an open lesson for 9-17 year
old schoolchildren within the framework of "EU Code Week" project. The students of Orran's
computer workshop participated in the training.
Such events promote the development of children's engineering thinking and contribute to their
professional orientation.
In October, at the initiative of the Caucasian Network for Children and within the framework of
"About me" project, Orran's journalists’ workshop in partnership with the site presented a trailer
on domestic violence. This very up-to-date trailer included Orran's children and staff as actors.

On October 24, the site's correspondents visited Orran where they, met with Orran's senior
group students and talked about the law on domestic violence. The children presented their
views on the issue.

On October 27, primary school children of Ararat village visited Orran.
On November 4, five children from Orran's senior group visited "Ving-Chun Kung-fu" Armenian
School. During the visit, the specialist told the children of the history and nuances of the sport.
The children were very impressed with the visit and were sure that it would not be their last
visit.

On November 8, Orran's Elderly Choir and junior group beneficiaries visited the poet's house-
museum in Yerevan. Eleven junior group children also joined the visit. At the end of the visit, the
choir performed with enthusiasm in the large hall of the house-museum dedicating a song to the
memory of the great Armenian poet.
On November 16, a training entitled "What is Artificial Intelligence" took place. The purpose of
the training was to inform pupils about the concept of "Artificial Intelligence". Such trainings
will contribute to the development of information society, helping to understand the diverse
applications of information technology.
On November 20, eleven (11) students from AYB School visited Orran on the “Day of Goodwill”.
They visited Orran's handicrafts workshops, prepared figures out of pottery and sang together
with the Orran children. At the end of the meeting AYB School children presented books to
Orran's children.

On November 23, famous singer, Hasmik Shiroyan, from Ukraine's Voice and the Eurovision
Song Contest visited Orran. She sang with Orran's elderly and beneficiary pupils spending a very
happy time with them. At the end of the day, Hasmik gave sweets to Orran's elderly and
children.

On November 24, designer, dressmaker Michael Sharafian visited Orran.

On November 25, world-famous singer, and member of Capital Cities group, Sebouh Simonyan
together with his family, visited Orran. They enjoyed a tour of Orran, got acquainted with
Orran's beneficiary children, and spent a great time them. Orran's children were extremely
happy to sing with their beloved singer. The children had a wonderfully exciting day!

On November 29, a tea ceremony was orginized at Navavar, where guests tasted delicious jams
prepared by the mothers of the beneficiary children of Orran's Vanadzor Krikorian Center.
This year, due to the sponsorship of Serj and Anjela Tankian, a training program was launched at
Orran Vanadzor Krikorian Center. The parents learned how to prepare canned products and,
sweets. They took some of the products with them and the rest was used in the Orran food
program.

New Year's Eve celebrations were launched by Orran's good friend Marriott Armenia Hotel. The
children were very excited and happy to have the oppotunity to decorate the Christmas tree,

something they had been waiting for the entire year. Santa Claus visited the children and made
their day very special. The children were served with delicious dishes and at the end of the day,
Orran's beneficiaries received surprise gifts from Marriott Hotel Armenia.

On December 3, a fundraiser for Orran was organized by Eat & Feed organization, dedicated to
protecting the fundamental human rights to life. The organization’s focus is to empower
communities to be of service by raising funds for impoverished and underpriveleged families. As
a result, 2017 was Eat & Feed’s BIGGEST year so far. Thank you Berj, Mane, Ani and New York
Life for rounding off our check for $20,000. This will feed a lot of kids, and keep them off the
streets.

December 5 is celebrated worldwide as the International Volunteers Day. Orran also celebrated
the International Volunteers Day and thanked all volunteers for their dedicated and caring work.
Former students of the Junior Achievement of Armenia program Erik Vardanyan and Lara
Alaverdyan, presented the result of their work.
On December 11, 2017, The U.S. Embassy, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the
European Union Delegation, the British Embassy, the Embassy of the Republic of France, the
United Nations, and the Council of Europe celebrated Human Rights Day. As is the tradition,
Orran's children prerared prizes in ceremaics for the winners.

On December 16, the employees of the Organizational Department of Yerevan Municipality,
headed by Mrs. Armine Vardanyan visited Orran. The guests learned of the children's daily
routine and conversed with them. The children sang songs for their dear guests. The guests in
turn, presented the children with delicious cakes.
On December 18, within the framework of the "I Exist" program, the European weightlifting
champion, Nazik Avdalyan, visited Orran. We thank her for her caring attitude towards Orran's
children.

On December 19, at the initiative of singer Sergey Grigoryan, the students of the State Theater
visited Orran. They met with the children and sang their favorite songs with them.
On December 22, Orran's longtime friend, Mrs. Nune together with her daughter-in-law and
granddaughter, visited Orran. Like every year, they presented sweets to children and the children
sang songs and spent a wonderful time together. We thank them for always being with Orran.

On December 23, singer Nelly Poghosyan and Miss Armenia, Irina Tovmasyan made a New Year
dream come true for six children at Orran by giving them the opportunity to show their voice to
the audience for the first time, giving them the chance to become singers for a couple of hours.

On December 26, The Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR) and Rostelecom company
provided Orran's children the oportunity to watch "Ferdinand" cartoon at Cinema Star in Dalma
Garden Mall Shopping and Entertainment Center. Thank you SOAR Charitable Foundation and
Rostelecom for providing such a pleasant day for our children.

Orran's senior group students created a surprise video clip, in which they expressed their
unlimited love and gratitude to the Orran family. In the video, they showed how the life of their
friend, Emmanuel, changed for the better as he started attending Orran.

On December 27, amid a festive mood at Orran, everyone was busy preparing for the New Year
celebration. This year, the children presented Disney cartoon heroes with their interpretation.
The event ended with a surprise visit from Santa Claus, warm greetings, and presents from our
dear friends Polina Kurtyavkova and Alessandro from the UK. We thank them for giving Orran's
children infinite smiles and unforgettable moments.
At the end of the happy day, the children together with Santa cut the Christmas cake and
congratulated everyone on the coming New Year and Christmas.

4. Social services During this reporting period, social worker Marina Ghazaryan reviewed the cases of beneficiaries including both the elderly and children. She conducted social work with 90 families and visited the homes of 28 Orran children to reassess their living conditions. In October, Orran's nurse regularly visited Arabkir Medical Center, where Orran’s beneficiary
Narek Petrosyan, received medical attention for health issues.
5.2 Psychological Services
During this semester Nana Avagyan, Orran's psychologist conducted individual and group work
with the children of middle and senior groups, made preliminary psychological assessments of
the new beneficiaries included in the program as well as revised and updated the corresponding
information in the beneficiaries' records.
During this six-month period, Orran's psychologist, together with the teachers, conducted a
monitoring evaluation of children with mental disabilities and their parents.
As a result, an individual program was developed for those who have behavioral problems and
demonstrate uncontrollable behavior in group activities.
Monitoring assessment was conducted with 18 beneficiary students.

Conclusion
Overall, Orran has been developing and growing in all areas. There are more beneficiaires, more
services and more volunteers at Orran. The staff is better trained and experienced and the
children are making progress in all areas of their life.
