2nd Grade News By Mrs. Abrams
In Mrs. Abrams’s 2nd grade girls class
we had our first STEM challenge of the
year. STEM stands for science,
technology, engineering, and
mathematics. Based off of our Mystery
Science curriculum, we first learned
about the biggest apple in the world.
Then, the girls found out about their
challenge. They had only white paper
and labels to create a device to pick
up “apples” in our classroom. The
girls learned a little bit about
engineering as well as problem
solving. After they had a chance to create an apple catcher and try it
out, they had a second chance to remodel their inventions to improve
upon their original design. It was amazing to see each student shine
with creativity, originality, and amazing problem solving skills.

3rd Grade News By Mrs. DeAngelis
The fabulous
third grade
girls had
another
hard-
working
week. With
MAP
testing, the
girls had to
have
patience with the computers, and
they had to answer very hard third grade questions
when they have only just started third grade! They
persevered and proved that they are fabulous at not
worrying about what they do not know yet. The girls
also practiced writing leads for their small moment
stories, as well as making connections and predicting,
to help them become better readers. Their cursive
writing is coming along beautifully, and they hope to
be able to write entire sentences soon. They all
worked hard and are ready for Rosh Hashanah. The
girls in Room 313 would like to wish everyone a Shana
Tova and K'siva V'chasima Tova!

5th Grade News By Raya Volkov and Kira Wittlin
This week in Mrs. Schur’s class, we had our first Ivrit test
and our first Navi test. The Navi test was about Chana
Haneviah and Shmuel who she made a Nazir; It’s really
interesting. In Mrs. Kirshner’s class, we are learning Rosh
Hashanah davening in the Machzor, and the Yud
Gimmel Middos Shel Rachamim and we’re learning a
song with motions. We’re learning about Rosh
Hashanah, (which happens to be Sunday night) in our
Yom Tov packets. 5th grade is so fun! Shana Tova and
Good Shabbos!
4th Grade News By Devorah Zuckerman, Ariella Hartstein, and Avigayil

We are so excited in Mrs. Dubovick’s Kitah Daled
because Thursday was our First Rosh Chodesh store this
year! We collect points/stars throughout the Hebrew
month and we save them up to use as our “money” to
get awesome prizes! This week we had our 2nd Ivrit test.
Everybody tried their best and we are hoping for good
scores. We made bookmarks for our machzorim. They
are so beautiful! Everyone made it in their own special
way and they turned out awesome. We looked inside
our machzorim and learned a little bit of what we’re
going to say on Rosh Hashanah! Everyone got awesome
prizes and were really happy with what we got. We
finished Perek Alef in Chumash. We’re so excited. We
know so many Rashis. We are so looking forward to
Rosh Hashanah! Have a Shana Tova and a great
Shabbos!

Camels, zebras, kangaroos and porcupines were just a few of the animals the
Kindergarten yeladim delighted in seeing at their pre-Rosh Hashanah trip to
Didier Farms. They had an awesome hayride, squealed while watching pig
races, and even got to take home their own pumpkins. The most exciting
thing for the yeladim was seeing the shofar on the heads of the goats as
they exclaimed, "Look, a Shofar!"
Kindergarten takes a trip to the farm!
The Nursery Yeladim paint with
bubble wrap!
The designs made by the bubble wrap will
make a beautiful frame for the Yehi
Ratzon brocha they are bringing home
together with all their other Rosh Hashana
projects.

Dear Families,
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school!
Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.
Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP OR UPDATE YOUR EXISTING APP:
