Survey• Using Survey Monkey I carried out a survey, that asked a variety of

questions to help gain an understanding of what a audience thought about the music video and what could be improved. • From the results I could only gain a brief understanding of what the

respondents thought as they questions were designed to be short and quick to answer, which I thought was reasonable for a survey.• In order to gain a more detailed feedback from a viewers, I have

filmed members of the target audience watching the music video and asked them questions and gained a verbal feedback.

Survey Results

The respondents results to the age rating of the music video chose to be targeted at 16-21 year olds. Less than 10% thought it was aimed at 12-15 year olds but 90%, the vast majority, felt it was 16-21 year olds which is what we aimed our music video to be suitable for. These results show us that the music video is portrayed at the right age and the audience understand that,

Survey Results

The results to this questions state that the respondents either thought the music video was targeted at females or both equally. Our aim for the music video to be targeted at both males and females, so the fact that half of the respondents thought this was encouraging. The use of a male lead role and a female lead role hopefully portrayed the equally target audience for the music video.

Survey Results

Both of these questions have been answered with 100% response to ‘YES’. The respondents to the survey thought that the slow tempo of the song was addressed emotively through the scenes in the music video as well as the lip sync being in time throughout. This was a great response because we knew that these were two areas in the music video we didn’t need to improve.

Survey Results

The results to this question vary from 60% respondents stating that they think that some scenes may be too explicit and 40% stating they aren’t.

In this question there was a option to further comment on why they/what scenes they thought were too explicit. From the comments above it was evident that the audience felt that the usage of drugs was the main concern. Therefore we need to cut and change the areas with drugs in so that it more suitable for the target audience.

Survey Results

This question is really important; we want to make sure that the audience understand the narrative of the music video. The majority of the responses stated they understood the storyline, however one response didn’t.

Again there was a further comment box for the responses to comment in, in reference to the question and someone suggested it was too messy. Therefore we need to make sure in our final draft that the music video is a ‘clear’ narrative, not ‘messy.

Survey Results

We wanted to see whether the audience felt that the black and white effect on the music video was effective and overall they responded yes. This establishes that we don’t need to change the effect and it works well.

Survey Results

From the results of this question all but one thought that the transitions matched the tempo of the song. However the one response that didn’t agree is worth referring back to and they commented that it was ‘too fast and sudden’. This is something we can change and improve on in our final draft.

Survey Results

Both of these questions have been answered with 100% response to ‘YES’. The respondents to the survey thought that the ending of the music video was executed well and that the song went well with the narrative . This was a great response because we knew that these were two areas in the music video we didn’t need to improve.
