    Call Drop Measurement per Cell(CALL.Drop.CELL)

    Overview

    Call Drop Measurement per Cell is used to measure the call drops based on the cause of the call drop, the channel type, the servicetype, and the call mode when a call drop occurs.

    Description

    After the MS seizes a channel, the BTS sends the BSC an ERR IND message, indicating that call drops occur on the Um interfacebecause of the abnormal connection at the radio link layer. If the cause value carried in the ERR IND message is timer T200 expired(N200+1) times (0x01), unsolicited DM response, multiple frame established state: perform abnormal release(0x05), or sequence error(0x07), this measurement provides the number of call drops due to ERR IND on the basis of the channel type (SDCCH, TCHF, orTCHH), the service type (signaling or traffic), the concentric attribute (overlaid subcell or underlaid subcell), and the cause value.

    Measurement point

    The specific counter is incremented by one when the BSC receives an ERR IND message. The counter is measured at A1, as shown inFigure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, Figure 4, and Figure 5.

    Description

    After the MS seizes a channel, the BTS sends the BSC a CONN FAIL IND message, indicating that call drops occur on the Uminterface because of the abnormal connection at the radio link layer. If the cause value carried in the CONN FAIL message receivedby the BSC is radio link failure (0x01), handover access failure (0x02), om intervention (0x07), or radio resource not available (0x21),this measurement provides the number of call drops related to CONN FAIL IND on the basis of the channel type (SDCCH, TCHF, or

    TCHH), the service type (signaling or traffic), the concentric attribute (overlaid subcell or underlaid subcell), and the cause value.

    Measurement point

    The specific counter is incremented by one when the BSC receives a CONN FAIL IND message.

    The counter is measured at A2, as shown in Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, Figure 4, and Figure 5.

    Description

    The connection between the MS and the BTS fails, therefore, when the BTS in the multi-frame link set-up state receives the DISCframe from the MS, the BTS sends the BSC an REL IND message indicating that call drops occur on the Um interface. Thismeasurement provides the number of call drops related to REL IND based on the channel type (SDCCH, TCHF, or TCHH), theservice type (signaling or traffic), and the concentric attribute (overlaid subcell or underlaid subcell).

    Measurement point

    The specific counter is incremented by one when the BSC receives an REL IND message.

    The counter is measured at A3, as shown in Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, Figure 4, and Figure 5.
