Dear Tom,We love those buttons too! The more the

better for us but that's not everyone's opin-ion. The Prius is one that has been on theleading edge of new tech for many yearsand each year they add a bit more. Thebase car hasn't changed much. The hybriddrive is still basically the same but the crea-ture comforts have come a long way. Newtech design is pretty strong these days andwe don't worry much about it failing morethan long-term tested devices. We all haveto have the newest cell phone and theychange those every few months and theirfailure rate isn't off the charts. New techseems to be the trend. We want it faster andwe want it now. and my budget can afford something inthe $10k range but I am a guy who likesa fancier ride like a Cadillac or Lincoln sothat means my $10k will buy me a lotless car than if I were to purchase asmaller more mainstream brand vehicle.I have ended up with what I call lemonsin the past which have cost me almostwhat I paid for them in repairs over a fewyears of ownership. position. They went with a luxury car thatwas ten years old instead of a standard carthat's just a couple years old with factorywarranty. When you buy an older car theadded miles and time take their toll and youare bound to have more problems. To pro-tect yourself as best as you can we stronglysuggest you do at least two things in addi-tion to the test drive. Those two things are atitle history check to find out if there aredamage brands reported and a mechanicalinspection done by a professional mechanic.These aren't fool proof but do catch a lot offaults.
