Avoidance measures

- Avoid seasonal allergens (such as tree,

grass and ragweed pollens ) by closing windows

and running air conds.- Excessive exposure to allergens, such as outdoor

molds,

Maintaining an allergen-free environment also

includes covering pillows and mattressess withplastic covers,

Removing dust collecting household fixtures

(like carpets, drapes and bedspreads).

Air purifiers and dust filters may help

Antihistamines and Decongestants-Brompherinamine or chlorpheniramine,

- Non-sedating long acting antihistamines

loratidine and Fexofenadine.

Nasal sprays

- Cromolyn sodium (nasalcrom)

Steroid nasal spray

Immunotherapy involves giving graduallyincreasing doses of substance ( or allergen

to which the person is allegic.
