SERVICE RECOGNITION AWARDS

Towards the end of the schoolyear, for the past twenty-five

years Xavier School has expressed its appreciation and formal

recognition of loyalty and length of service rendered by school

personnel through the Service Recognition and Awards

Ceremonies. Before these ceremonies were established, however,

Xavier would present Loyalty Awards to those who had given

dedicated service to the school during the Grade School or High

School Closing Ceremonies. In 1986, separate rites were held, and

from then on, it has been an annual affair that marks the end of

another schoolyear.

Service plaques are awarded after completion of ten, fifteen,

twenty, twenty-five, and thirty years of service.

Luceat Lux!

Xavier School,

our pride and glory,

to you we pledge our loyalty.

Day after day,

year after year,

you've taught us to hold these things most dear:

strength and purity of soul,

mind and body,

self-sacrifice,

the spirit of charity.

Gratefully we sing your name to the sky

as we hold the torch on high.

Luceat, luceat lux!

Keep the light in your hearts always.

Luceat, luceat lux!

Make it grow

brighter with each day.

Walk without fear

along life's dark and stony road;

give a helping hand

to lighten someone's load.

Make your light

brightly shine

'till the journey's end.

Luceat, luceat lux!
