In the second quarter, the global average connection speed increased 21% to 4.6 Mbps, while the global peak connection speed increased 20% to 25.4 Mbps. In the Americas, the United States had the highest average connection speed at 11.4 Mbps, while Bolivia had the lowest at 1.1 Mbps. Uruguay had the highest peak speed at 49.7 Mbps, while Bolivia had the lowest at 8.9 Mbps.

Within the Americas, Canada had the both the highest average connection speed at 67.0 Mbps and the highest peak connection speed at 21.8 Mbps, while Argentina had the lowest average connection speed at 1.0 mbps and Paraguay had the lowest peak connection speed at 6.4 Mbps. Canada also had the highest mobile broadband adoption rate in the Americas at 63% above 4 Mbps, while Bolivia had the lowest at 0.0% above 4 Mbps.

South Korea and Hong Kong maintained their lead in the average connection speed metric globally and regionally, while India had the lowest at 2.0 Mbps. South Korea had a 72.1 Mbps peak connection speed, while India had the lowest peak speed at 14.4 Mbps.

In the Asia Paci�c region, Japan had the highest average connection speed at 5.7 Mbps, while India had the lowest at 1.3 Mbps. �e highest peak connection speed was in Australia with 114.2 Mbps, while the lowest peak connection speed was seen in Iran at 5.0 Mbps. Japan also led the highest broadband adoption rate in the Asia Paci�c region at 61% above 4 Mbps, while Kazakhstan had the lowest at 1.7% above 4 Mbps.

In the second quarter, the global average connection speed increased 21% to 4.6 Mbps, while the global peak connection speed increased 20% to 25.4 Mbps. With a 17% quarter-over-quarter increase in average connection speed to 14.9, Switzerland pushed ahead of Japan, reaching the third spot globally. South Africa had the lowest average at 3.0. Israel and Romania became the �rst two surveyed EMEA countries with average peak connection speeds above 60 Mbps in the second quarter, while South Africa had the lowest peak connection speed at 13.2 Mbps.

Slovakia had the highest average connection speed at 8.0 Mbps, while South Africa had the lowest at 1.8 Mbps. Russia had the highest peak connection speed at 39.3 Mbps, while South Africa had the lowest at 6.1 Mbps. Denmark had the highest mobile broadband adoption at 92% above 4 Mbps, while Croatia had the lowest at 0.4%.
