The Council is now fully geared up with organizing the fourth edition of the IndiaEngineering Sourcing Show (IESS) 2014 as lead agency appointed by theGovernment of India which will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbaibetween 16-18 December, 2014. The show will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble UnionMinister of State for Commerce, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. This year Poland is the“Partner Country” and Gujarat is the “Partner State”. IESS IV will definitely promotethe “Brand India” image within India, it will be our utmost endevaour to highlight Indiaas a “Technology Hub” for the manufacturing industry – from SMEs to large-scaleorganizations.

LAUNCHING OF DIRECT LINER SERVICE TO MYANMAR BY SCI

On her 54th anniversary, The Shipping Corporation of India launched a direct liner service to Myanmar - 2nd October,2014 with a view to facilitate the EXIM trade of both nations.

SCI has deployed one 1200 teus vessel “SCI KAMAL" on this sector with port rotation as follows :

Colombo – Chennai – Krishnapatnam – Yangon – Colombo

This is a dedicated stand alone service catering to trade requirements of East Coast and West coast of India to Myanmarand vice versa. While cargoes to the east coast of India are catered to directly with calls at Chennai and Krishnapatnam.Cargoes from the west coast of India are feedered to Colombo and connected to SCI Kamal for onward shipment toYangon. Similarly cargoes from Yangon to west coast of India will be feedered via Colombo.
