Dear Families,
Jesus Calms the Storm
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Matthew 8:23-27 New International Version (NIV)
What a great picture of the power and calm assurance that Jesus walked this earth with. It provides an encouragement too and hope for anyone facing a storm in life.
After preaching to enormous crowds near the Sea of Galilee, Jesus and the disciples took a boat to the opposite shore to find some time and solitude to rest. As they crossed the sea, a storm erupts with winds so great that the apostles thought they would die. Jesus was below deck sleeping throughout the storm and the apostles rushed to wake him and ask why he didn't care. Jesus woke and told the storm to be still and the winds stopped immediately.
We can be reminded and we can remind our kids the message through this simple and powerful story that The Disciples Followed Jesus – When Jesus got into the boat, the disciples followed Him. We should do the same thing every day.
Just because we’re followers of Jesus doesn’t mean that we won’t have storms in our lives. However, following Jesus can give peace, even in the midst of those storms.
Trust God and follow Him even in the greatest of turmoil of life….. He is right beside you.

Farewell to Pastoral Care Worker
We are sad to say goodbye to our Pastoral Care Worker, Kelly Townsend, who has been at Pilgrim for the past year.
We pray rich blessings on Kelly as she begins a new chapter in her life.
From Kelly:
Dear Pilgrim community
Unfortunately I am leaving you all at Pilgrim School.
I have been working here for a year now and have met the most wonderful staff, parents, caregivers and of course the children.
Pilgrim school is a blessing to the Campus. Teachers here shine Jesus and the work they do within the school is incredible.
God is taking me on a journey, which I am following with anticipation and joy.
I do want to thank you all for supporting me and I can honestly say that I'm going to miss you all dearly.
But I know that your children are in the highest care and will be incredibly nurtured to follow our sovereign Father here at Pilgrim.
Blessings to you all.
Kelly Townsend, Pastoral Care Worker

Father’s Day Stall The Father’s Day stall will be held on Monday 26th August .Thank you to our Year 2 liaisons, Carol Harry, Chloe Bosman and Naomi Hodges for organising this special event. I’m sure our school’s dads, stepdads and grandpas will appreciate their gifts from the stall.
Vacancies for P&F President and Vice President I will be finishing my time as P&F President at the Parents & Friends Annual General Meeting in November. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to be P&F President from the AGM onwards. This is a key role in our school community, and vital to having an active P&F at Pilgrim. We also currently have a vacancy for P&F
Vice-President, who supports the President and stands in for them if required. If you are interested in either of these roles, or would like find out more details, please email me at: [email protected]. You may have a friend who is also interested, and together you may be able to undertake these roles. Attending the next P&F meeting on Monday 9th September will be a great opportunity to see what’s involved with these roles. Next P&F Meeting: Monday 9TH September at 7.30pm
Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting. At this meeting, changes to the P&F’s constitution will be voted on. A notice describing the proposed changes will be emailed to parents before the meeting. We will need a quorum in order for the changes to be approved, so please come along and support our P&F. Thank you. Dan Minchin, President P & F (0438 378 543)

Fun with Technology in Reception….
Meet Seymour Skinless. He knows lots about the body
and we are enjoying sharing his books too.
We had fun using a t-shirt with augmented reality technology to discover what might be inside our bodies.
We have a bit of growing to do!
In Maths we have been working on directional language using the beebots, designing a track for them to travel along. Mr Jenkin has been working with us in the STEM room using the Edison cars to learn some basic coding. It has been a lot of fun.
