1) General Information Contents On arrival your treatment couch is packed complete with everything needed to get you started. Your 2212 couch is a ‘plug ‘n’ play’ piece of equipment and no assembly is required. The packing carton is designed to cope with normal shipping and handling. However, should any accidental damage occur during its shipment to you, The following procedure should be followed: 1a) Ensure the box is the correct way up. 1b) Check the carton completely for dents in the carton walls or rips to the corners, etc. 1c) Always sign the courier receipt documentation as either UNCHECKED or as DAMAGED, or if possible (after inspection) in GOOD CONDITION. However, if you do not sign as unchecked or damaged any signature given will be deemed by the couriers as ‘received in good condition’ as per their terms and conditions of carriage. 1d) If your couch is delivered with any visible damage, and you accept the goods as ‘damaged’, try to obtain and/or note the following: Time and delivery date _________________________ Delivering agent (e.g. TNT/Parcelforce) _________________________ Drivers name _________________________ Delivery vehicle registration no. _________________________ The above information will prove vital in expediting the assessment and approval of any claim made, in the unfortunate event of your equipment arriving with damage in transit. NB: Failure to report and/or sign for goods as ‘damaged in transit’ within 24 hours of receipt of goods, will result in non comliance of goods in transit insurance, and your appointed courier will reject claims for damage. All costs for any damage claim made outside these terms and conditions will be chargeable to the purchaser.

2) Safety Precautions General Usage Safety > The maximum acceptable lift limit is (150kg) and should NOT be exceeded. Exceeding the MAX LIFT limit will result in damage and/or component failure of the couch. It may also result in injury to you or the user, so should be avoided at all times. >Always ensure your product is used within the correct electrical range. Unless specifically requested, all products are 220-240v rated and should be used with the same rated supply. The couch should be fused at all times while in use. > When you have positioned your couch for use, always ensure the power cable is in such a way, that it will not get caught in the moving parts of the couch or jammed under the wheels of the bed or stools etc. > This model of couch is not recommend for wet or moist environments such as Hydrotherapy rooms. Any exposure to moisture may affect the electrical components and result in failure, or increase the likelihood of rusting.

> Avoid placing limbs or appendages within the framework area of the couch whilst plugged in, or in use. Doing so may result in injury. Always disconnect the product from the power supply before inspection. > Should you encounter any product or component failure, please consult Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd or your appointed agent for inspection or repairs. > Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd or its appointed agents are recommended to carry out all repairs; failure to do this may result in loss of your product warranty.

> Always avoid sitting on the head panel of the couch, as this may result in damage to the couch and its hydraulic functions. Should this occur, consult Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd or its appointed agent in this event. > Clients over the weight of 80kg must avoid sitting on the head end of the couch to avoid the danger of tipping!

Using your couch

> When lifting your couch, always lift by the metal frame underneath the upholstery. Failure to do this may result in damage to the couch. > When moving the couch, always ensure the wheels are fully engaged by pushing the foot bar fully down. Push down the wheel engaging foot bar, from position (1), fully down, as per position (2). See below: > For the height adjustment on your 2212, simply use the foot control switch as directed below. The foot control comes with 2 functions ‘UP’ and ‘DOWN’ which are highlighted for you. The use of a foot control has been determined as the most hygienic way to operate the couch, to prevent any form of cross contamination between operator and user.

> Adjustment of the head section. Pulling the height adjustment lever, situated under the head panel, carries out this function. Simply lift the lever using light pressure (lift approx 3cm), to engage or disengage the hydraulic back function. Please note, that the operator must support the panel and the “customers weight” during this action. See picture below. IMPORTANT POINT Pushing the lever downwards will DAMAGE the hydraulic actuator. This will present itself as, the back function ‘not working’ or oil being forced from the hydraulic unit and leaking, again resulting in the function ‘not working’. > Simply hold the release lever in the up position, and whilst supporting the client, move the panel to the desired position. Then release the lever to its normal position, before releasing your support of the panel and client. Lift then release…

Cleaning & Maintenance Cleaning Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance on your couch, for safety reasons ensure you unplug the couch from the mains supply. > The frame and metallic parts of your couch should be cleaned using a dry or a slightly damp cloth. For severe marking or stains sterilising solution may be used in a diluted form if necessary. > If detergent is used, be sure to use a PH- neutral form, diluted with warm water. > The upholstery vinyl is to be washed with warm soapy water and/or a mild detergent solution. Again, with a neutral or mild PH level. Using aggressive detergents or cleaning agents (acetone, ammonia, bleach etc) may damage your upholstery. This may also invalidate your product warranty and/or shorten the lifespan and durability of the product. For disinfecting purposes, use a weak (5%) solution mixed with warm water. After disinfecting, ensure you wipe away the remnants of the disinfectant solution using a clean damp cloth and then leave to dry before covering. Where possible, dry your couch with paper tissue. For stubborn stains/marks a weak solution cleanser or cream cleanser may be used. Again, ensure all traces of the cleansing product/s are removed with a clean damp cloth, and left to dry before covering. Where possible dry your couch with paper tissue. Maintenance by the user To maintain comfort, reliability and durability, we recommend a yearly inspection and maintenance session by qualified personnel. Contact Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd for further details. Your 2212 treatment couch is design for a minimum of user maintenance and we suggest consulting Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd before attempting any mechanical or electrical repairs, as this may invalidate your product warranty. The recommend maintenance for users is to oil moving components (hinges/pivots etc.) on a 6 monthly basis. If you observe something of concern, regarding the mechanics of your couch. Please contact Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd for advice before proceeding. You should regularly (minimum once monthly) inspect your power cable, from the plug to control box, to prevent using your couch with a damaged power cable. This should prevent any possibility of injury or electric shock to either operator or user. If you are unsure of the condition of the power cable, please consult a qualified electrician and /or contact Cosmetronic (UK) Ltd at the earliest opportunity.
