AlternativeTo

Summary: AT is a site where you can find any alternative application to what you are looking for. For example, if you use Windows but need something similar to the Mac app Garageband, this is where you would go. Document Palette

Summary: Document Palette is a nice fee app for opening documents. It resembles a cross between Spotlight and Quicksilver, but works only on documents. What makes Palette so great is the ability to manage what kind of documents/apps that you can open w/ the DP key shortcut… that is done by going into the settings and adding what kind of things you want to launch, very easy/handy. File Browse

Summary: File Browse is a new application for viewing your files/media in a new way. This is really a great great application, which acts a lot like Quick Look or Preview. Also, FB allows users to sort their media and view their data inside of a "tree". It is very handy to use because once you view your files, you can keep digging further visually, instead of how you normally would, when browsing inside of your HD. iFixit

Summary: Being the Mac user I am, I decided to type a quick blurb on a rather useful site, iFixit. iFixit is a great resource for those that want to download manuals or view instructions on how to repair things. The instructions are very concise and easy to follow, and there are plenty of pics to help along the way. Leopard/OS X Features (top 10)

Summary: I thought I would compile a list of my favorite OSX features. Keep in mind this is not strictly regulated to Leopard, some of these features have been around since the induction of Cheetah (10.0)

Litt le Snapper

Summary: Little Snapper is one of the little hidden gems that came along w/ a Mac Heist bundle. Basically, it's a screen grab tool w/ some nice features (web grabs-anyone). What separates LS from other screen grabbing tools is that not only can you take a shot, you can then edit it in the LS interface. Think of it as a combo of the Mac OS tool and Skitch built all into one. It really is a nice/useful tool and worth a look. Netalyzr

Summary: Netalyzr is a new (beta) site by ICSI. It is designed to debug your internet and "tell" you exactly what is going on w/ your network. To begin the test all you do is browse to the page and click Start Analysis. Once it is done (5 min or so) you get a very detailed report of what's going on, on your network. I can really see this beneficial for home users who want to get an idea, if people are using their Wi Fi connection, etc etc.

Polaris

Summary: Polaris is a great little app for monitoring Google Analytics on your desktop. This is ideal for anyone who blogs or does web design as you can have the application running up on your screen w/out having to browse to the website. S4ave.as

Summary: File sharing made easy!!! Just upload your file, wait for a link to be generated and that's it. However, there is one small catch... your file will only be "live" for 24 hours.

Search It

Summary: Search It, is a tool very similar to Quicksilver/Spotlight, where you can pull up a search bar on your computer and type what you are looking for. The big difference is where Quicksilver/Spotlight are designed to find/open things on your computer, Search It is a short cut to the internet.

Text Ninja

Summary: Text Ninja is a a great little site that takes text and encodes it so bots can't use it to spam a user. For example, if you post your email site in a forum or online anywhere there is the potential of it being "grabbed" and used for some kind of spam. TN makes it so people see the text you want them too, but "bots" do not as the text has been encrypted. Tiny Grab

Summary: TinyGrab is a handy little site that lets users share their screen shots via a "web 2.0" format. What that means is a user logs in w/ an account, uploads their screen shots, and then can share it w/ others. TinyGrab makes this process very simple.

W3C Link Checker

Summary: W3C is a site which is designed for bloggers/web designers to find anything "broken": links, html, documents, etc. W3C is so easy to use, just paste in URL, watch it run, and then view the results right up on the web. You can even download your results. It doesn't get much easier then that!!

WhatsOpen

Summary: WhatsOpen is a free application for the Mac that is a cross between the Force Quit utility and Activity Monitor. It is designed to free up files so you can eject media, which can be a pain to figure out.
