Symptom

As of May 2015, SAP Simple Finance add-on is  now SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition. Additionally, the numbering of product versions has been changed.

You need more information on these changes in order to avoid confusion and ensure that you  are referring to the correct product information.

Reason and Prerequisites

As of May 2015, SAP Simple Finance add-on is  now SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition. Additionally, the numbering of product versions has been changed.

The switch to the new name will be done in two phases:

l As of the support package stack delivered in May 2015 the name change will be reflected in: PAM, SWDC, SAP Service Marketplace (SMP), SAP Help Portal, Administrator's and Configuration Guides, entry pages in Application Help and key pages in EKT materials, SAP Notes

l As of the support package stack delivered in August 2015 the name change will be reflected in: Application Help, Release Notes, Security Guide, Migration Guide, system texts, EKT presentations

As a result, the old and new product names will co-exist for some time until the cleanup has been finalized.

Solution

The new product version name of the recently-shipped SP stack is:

SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition 1503 SPS 1505

In more detail:

A) Change of Product Names

The product name of the finance add-on has been changed to a simpler and shorter name, which now includes the deployment model (on-premise) to avoid confusion with cloud products. When you install the SAP Simple Finance on-premise edition, the classic Finance applications of SAP ERP are replaced. Therefore, the addition of "add-on" to the old product name could be confusing.

The product version numbers have been changed to reflect the month/year of availability.

NOTE: SP numbers of individual software components/packages included in an SP stack HAVE NOT BEEN changed (e.g. SAP_FIN 720 SP01).

D) Additional Hints

l SAP Accounting powered by SAP HANA and SAP Cash Management powered by SAP HANA are applications included in the SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition - names unchanged.

l SFIN, SFINANCIALS are used as (part of) technical names as before. l The name and version number of SAP Simple Finance add-on 1.0 will not be changed retroactively.

l Smart Financials, Simplified Financials are obsolete (code) names of the same product and are no longer used.
