Meat and wine are considered to be festive foods that would be served at a banquet. Wisdoms invitation to feasting anticipates the spiritual food of Christ (John 6:5258) and the future marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19:9). Wisdom invites the simple to her feast so that they may become wise. The banquet is an anticipation of the heavenly banquet.
