Day 1: Sun, Mar 28 – HONOLULU. Depart Honolulu via Delta Airlines flt #181 at 4:10 pm

Day 2: Mon, Mar 29 – TOKYO. Arrive in Haneda at 8:00 pm. After entry formalities, transfer to your hotel in the heart of Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. The remainder of the evening is free to explore Tokyo. Various restaurants are shops are located nearby. KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TOKYO (3 Nights)

Day 3: Tue, Mar 30 – TOKYO – MITO – TOKYO. After breakfast, start the full day of touring. Ranked amongst Japan's three finest landscape gardens, Kairakuen is most famous for its over three thousand plum trees. Kairakuen is particularly popular during the plum blossom season. The garden features a forest of 3000 trees of over one hundred different plum tree varieties with white, pink and red blossoms. The Mito Plum Festival (Mito Ume Matsuri) is held annually from February 20 to March 31. Besides the plum trees Kairakuen also features a bamboo grove, cedar woods and the Kobuntei, a traditional Japanese style building. A nice view of Kairakuen and nearby Senba Lake can be enjoyed from the building's top floor. Visit Kodokan, which opened in August 1841, served as the Mito clan's school for the feudal warriors and their children. Lunch is the renowned Hitachi Aki Soba Teishoku. We then visit Hitachi Seaside Park, just in time for the nearly one million narcissus flowers (over 600 varieties). After a brief rest at your hotel, we will walk to our gourmet destination for the evening, Misono Restaurant, the originators of teppanyaki cooking in 1945. Enjoy a gourmet feast consisting of seasonal seafood, vegetables and genuine Wagyu Beef. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Wed, Mar 31 – TOKYO. Full Day at Leisure. Our Licensed English speaking guide will offer an optional walking and shopping tour. Perfect day to relax and/or visit with family and friends in Tokyo. (B)* Baggage will be sent from Tokyo to Kyoto, skipping Kanazawa. Prepare overnight bag for 2 nights.

Day 5: Thur, Apr 01 – TOKYO – KANAZAWA. After a leisurely morning, transfer to Tokyo Train Station to board our Express Train to Kanazawa on the Sea of Japan. A delicious bento lunch will be served onboard. A brief walk from the bustling Kanazawa Train Station will bring you to your quiet and luxurious oasis, your hotel. Depart the hotel for a tour of the Higashi Chaya District. Chaya (teahouse) is an exclusive type of restaurant where guests were entertained by geisha, who performed song and dance. This evening we are entertained by an authentic Maiko. Dancing, singing and playing fun games. Kanazawa cuisine uses the great water brought from Hakusan Mountain, Kaga vegetables and fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL KANAZAWA (2 Nights) (B, L, D)

Day 6: Fri, Apr 02 – KANAZAWA. After your bountiful breakfast buffet, explore Kenrokuen Garden. The spacious grounds used to be the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle and were constructed by the ruling Maeda family over a period of nearly two centuries. Opened to the public in 1871, Kenrokuen features a variety of flowering trees including cherry blossoms, which provide the garden with a different look for each season. Visit Nagamachi, a samurai district at the foot of Kanazawa Castle. Nomura-ke is a restored samurai residence displaying the lifestyle and artifacts of the era when samurai were prosperous. Omicho Market is Kanazawa’s local market. Kanazawa’s people call them “Kanazawa’s kitchen”. They sell everything you can find in your kitchen. Not only fish but also vegetables and meats are sold. Ample free time for shopping and lunch on your own. The afternoon and evening are free to explore the endless shopping and dining opportunities surrounding your hotel. (B)

Day 7: Sat, Apr 03 – KANAZAWA – KYOTO. Depart for Kyoto aboard the Express Train. Upon

arrival we enjoy a Kyoto specialty, Yudofu (boiled tofu) Teishoku at Hanaikada Inn. After lunch, experience a thrilling downstream Hozu River Cruise while you take in the beauty of cherry blossoms. Then take a stroll through the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and shop for authentic bamboo crafts. MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO HACHIJO (2 Nights) (B, L)

Day 8: Sun, Apr 04 – KYOTO. Full Day at Leisure. Our Licensed English speaking guide will offer an optional walking and shopping tour. Perfect day to relax and/or visit with family and friends in Kyoto. (B)

Day 9: Mon, Apr 05 – KYOTO – OKAYAMA. Enjoy the view from Japan’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spot, Yoshino Mountain. It is said that the first tree was planted more than 1300 years ago, and today the mountain is covered by approximately 30,000 cherry trees. Transfer to the Kyoto Train Station to board the Express Train to Okayama. A delicious bento lunch will be served onboard. A brief walk will bring you to your hotel, conveniently located a block away from the newly built Super AEON Mall. 100’s of shops and restaurants await you. HOTEL GRANVIA OKAYAMA (2 Nights) (B, L)

Day 10: Tue, Apr 06 – OKAYAMA – KURASHIKI – OKAYAMA. Today we visit Korakuen Garden, the last of our “Top-3” Japanese gardens. It is located just beside Okayama Castle, which can be seen from the garden as “borrowed scenery”. Lunch is served at the historical, Ryokan Kurashiki, where you will enjoy a seasonal Mini-Kaiseki Lunch, limited to only 50 servings per day. After lunch, visit Kurashiki Bikan-Chiku. The beautiful streetscape of storehouses and merchant homes was selected as an Important Traditional Structures Conservation Area by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Next, visit Kikkodo Sweets Shop where you will create your own sweet, “Mura-Suzume (flocking sparrow)”, a rough textured sweet red bean paste wrapped in a spongy cake of a sparrow shape. Enjoy a Farewell Izakaya dinner tonight. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Wed, Apr 07 – OKAYAMA – OSAKA – HONOLULU. After breakfast, we walk to Okayama Train Station to board our Shinkansen Bullet Train to Shin-Osaka. Enjoy shopping at Kuromon Ichiba Market and in the Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi areas. Later, transfer to the airport. Depart Osaka via Delta Airlines flt #278 at 9:00 pm and arrive Honolulu on the same day at 9:50 am. Aloha and Welcome Home! (B)
