School Captain Leadership Positions 2020
Dear Student
The following information outlines the expectations and protocols around applying for a school leadership position for 2020 and should be read in conjunction with the Senior Privileges letter, 2020. Being a school leader takes initiative, high levels of motivation and a passion for representing your school. Naturally, being a school leader is an achievement you can be proud of and use to influence positive change within your school. Being a school leader is also an excellent inclusion on your resume, as such a responsibility is held in high regard by most educational institutions and potential employers.
If you are interested, it is important to consider that the leadership process begins now. That is, your actions both within the school and wider community are taken into account as you journey through Year 11 and approach your final year as School Leaders at Yeppoon State High School. Between now and the Night of Excellence on Wednesday 6 November 2019, students interested in a leadership position will be invited to complete the following Application Package consisting of:
Following the initial application (documentation will be made available and support provided to complete this process), you will undergo a face-to-face interview to discuss your vision for the school in 2019, as well as your suitability for the role. During the interview, you will also be required to respond to a given scenario and discuss your response with the panel.
If you progress successfully through the interview stage, you will then present a two (2) minute speech to your peers on parade, explaining why they should vote for you.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 9 October 2019. Once completed, please return your application to the Dean, Senior School BODH staff room.
Thank you for your interest. We wish you all the best for 2019 and with your 2020 leadership application, should you be interested.
Kind regards
