Judges’ Education Seminar

The American Boxer Club Regional Judges Education Seminar is scheduled for Thursday,

October 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roberts Centre, 123 Gano Rd, Wilmington, OH 45177. The seminar will be followed by a hands-on workshop. The seminar is $25.00 in

advance and $30.00 at the door to cover the cost of materials.

The regional dates are October 12 through October 16 – the 16th is the ABC regional specialty. There will be ringside mentoring available most of the week.

2020 American Boxer Club Regional Cluster COVID-19 Operating Guidelines

The 2020 American Boxer Club Regional Cluster (ABCRC) Organizers will work with state and local governments and public health authorities prior to the start of the cluster to determine risks and mitigation measures. On-Site Process and Procedures ABCRC shall require temperature monitoring for volunteers, officials, exhibi-tors, and service providers at delivery of signed waiver. Anyone with a temper-ature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to enter the grounds. Everyone entering show grounds will be required to wear a mask. Signage to this effect will be posted at the entrance and throughout the grounds. Af-ter receipt of signed waiver and successful required temperature check individuals will be provided a wristband. Wristbands must be worn at all times inside the show room. If you lose your wristband or require a replacement you will need to complete a new signed waiver and suc-cessfully complete a new required temperature check. The following individuals will not be permitted on the show grounds: • An individual who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, • An individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 within last two weeks, or

• An individual who has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last two weeks. The ABCRC will post signage that displays all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, requirements, and orders as well as WHO recommendations and CDC guidelines as they relate to mass gatherings and sporting events in effect at the show. Signage will be posted at all entrances to the show grounds which identifies the symptoms of COVID-19 and states the following: •To protect others from possible transmission of the virus, anyone who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms or has been in contact with someone who has tested pos-itive for COVID-19 within the last two weeks (exception, healthcare personnel who have treated patients using appropriate medical-grade PPE during the course of performing professional duties), cannot enter the show grounds. The-se individuals are encouraged to contact their health care provider immediately for further medical advice and must obtain documented clearance from their health care provider before entering the show grounds. Participants must as-sume responsibility for themselves and their own staff (e.g. assistants, etc.). • Recommendations about good hygiene along with informing participants and others about ways to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Social Distancing & Limiting Entries The ABCRC shall enforce social distancing requirements throughout the show grounds at all times. • Prohibit the public, spectators, and non-essential personnel such as guests from being on the show grounds. Non-participants will not be allowed inside the show area. • Organize dog and exhibitor arrivals and departures to limit contact between people, (e.g. show time is 10am, please leave the area immediately after you show and not return unless you have another dog to show in another time slot)

• Arrange judges’ and other officials’ areas to comply with social distancing

requirements.

• Restrict show office and judges area access to essential personnel only. Lim-ited entry will be considered if necessary. • Extra activities will be limited and subject to the same rules and regulations • Regardless of the scope of the limitation, the limiting of entries must be done on a first come, first served basis and relevant information will be posted on the Superintendent’s website. • Configure grooming to comply with social distancing requirements. Enforcement Authority Stewards, Club members, and AKC officials will inform individuals when they are not in compliance with the regulations and requirements in effect at the show and shall report such situations to the Club Officials and AKC. The ABCRC has the authority to remove from the facility any person who does not comply with the regulations and requirements in effect. If an individual needs an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, request should be submitted, along with documentation of the disability and need for accommodation, to show chair at address provided in premium.

Requests for accommodation will be reviewed on a confidential basis with a medical consultant. Participants are required to comply with these and any additional Show Or-ganizer requirements at all times while present on show grounds. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the grounds. These requirements are in effect immediately and until further notice, howev-er, they are subject to revisions as the COVID-19 environment changes. Recommended Best Practices for ABCRC The following Recommended Best Practices have been provided to assist Show Organizers with determining risks and developing measures to mitigate those risks: • Limit the number of entrances and exits to the show area to manage the number of Individuals accessing the show grounds. All entrances and exits must be manned to limit access. • Communication: Use radio and cell phone communication methods as much as possible and communicate important information frequently throughout the show grounds. Considerations for Club Members, Medical Personnel, Service Provid-ers & Volunteers • Cleaning/Sanitizing Locations: Provide hand sanitizing stations with access to soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer at several areas through the grounds. • Provide hand sanitizer to all officials, ring crew, clean up and medical offi-cials. Ensure frequent cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms, provide soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer in bathrooms.

Ring Procedure • All dogs enter on one side of the ring and exit on the other side. Follow signage. • Dogs will stand at designated spots when waiting to be judged and when judge is examining the dog, the exhibitor and dog will move up to the next line and do their individual movement and return to the end of the line. The judge will point to the dog for its placement while standing in the lines (spaced 6 feet away from the other dogs). Provide markers to delineate 6 feet spacing between people in any waiting lines (e.g., markers on floor or gait-ing). Armbands Procedure • There will be tables inside our building for you to pick up your numbers. • Ring Stewards and armband pickup locations WILL NOT have catalogs available. Be certain you know your dog’s armband number and class. • There will be an entrance to the building and an exit to keep distancing, to the extent possible. • Please do not gather in the building.

• Please be on the lookout for Armband Procedure updates Parking Considerations • Parking area will be maintained completely separate from show area. RV parking is separate from regular auto parking. Parking area is no less than 15 feet from show area. • RV’s will be parked no less than 15 feet apart. They will all be parked facing the same direction to ensure maximum separation of RV entrance/exits. • Automobiles will be parked in a separate area and will be parked no less than 6 feet apart. • There will be no gatherings of any kind at any time allowed in any parking area. Catalog Procedures • Ring Stewards and armband pickup locations WILL NOT have catalogs available. • Catalogs will be available to purchase online at Foy Trent Dog Shows when you enter the shows. • Prepaid catalogs will be available for pickup at the shows.

• A limited number of catalogs will be available for purchase at the show. Pre-

order strongly suggested.

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Friday Only

Novice Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class - will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year.

No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department (919) 233-9767.

Boxers within the stated age limits as of the closing date for entries for this show are eligible to compete in the Sweepstakes. All entries in the Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Class at the Regular entry fee at this show. Annual Futurity Stake (ABC only) Updated June 25, 2020

CONDITIONS 1. The Futurity Stake is open only to Members of the American Boxer Club, Inc. and its Member Clubs except as herein otherwise provided.

2. The Futurity Stake is an annual event sponsored by the American Boxer Club, Inc. and is exclu-sively for the competition of Puppies and Juniors from six months of age and under eighteen months of age. Puppies from six months of age and under twelve months of age shall only be required to compete against each other. Similarly, Juniors from twelve months of age and under eighteen months of age shall only compete against each other. Puppies and Juniors shall not compete against each other except as herein otherwise provided.

3. Bitches may be nominated at any time between the breeding and whelping dates during the six-month periods preceding and following the date of the licensed show. The exact dates for the beginning and ending of these nominations are determined by the actual date of the Futurity or by the management.

4. All Puppies and Juniors are made eligible for competition before they are born. It is only through the Bitch that they are made eligible. Nominations of Bitches must be made AFTER THE BITCH IS BRED and BEFORE THE DATE SHE IS DUE TO WHELP. Only Puppies from nominated Bitch-es whelped AFTER THE DATE OF NOMINATION are eligible. THE DATE OF THE POST OFFICE CAN-CELLATION STAMP on the envelope containing the nomination determines, not the date received by the chairman. A fee of $15.00 for each Bitch is to accompany the Futurity Stake nomination form.

5. Fee of $5.00 will complete eligibility on each Puppy's nomination for the Futurity provided said fee is paid ON OR BEFORE the date Puppy reaches four months of age.

6. Puppies must be six months and under twelve months of age on the initially scheduled first day of the licensed show, and Juniors must be twelve months and under eighteen months of age on the initially scheduled first day of the licensed show. There are NO A.K.C. CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS CONNECTED WITH THE FUTURITY.

7. Puppies from litters from nominated Bitches are eligible even though sold to a new owner between the whelping date and the time of the Futurity WHETHER THE NEW OWNER IS A MEM-BER OR NOT provided the original entry was made by a member breeder and provided further that all the conditions herein mentioned have been fully complied with.

8. Two Stakes will be created for the Futurity. One exclusively for the Puppy competition and one solely for Juniors. Nomination fees received from the breeders and owners of Bitches and Pup-pies eligible for competition in the Puppy classes, will become part and parcel of a Stake to be used for the Puppy classes only, and similarly like fees, received from breeders and owners of Puppies subsequently eligible in the Junior classes, will become part and parcel of a Stake to be used for the Junior competition.

9. The Cash Stake for the Puppy Competition will be divided as cash awards as herein below set forth.

12. The Cash Stake from the Junior Dog Competition will be divided as cash awards as herein below set forth:

14. One Winner will be selected from each of said classes in the 12 months and under 15 months and 15 months and under 18 months classes to determine the Best Juniors and from these Win-ners will be selected the First Prize Futurity Winner Junior

15. The First Prize Futurity Winner Puppy will compete against the First Prize Futurity Winner Junior and the winner will be designated as the Grand Prize Futurity Winner.

16. First Prize Futurity Winner Puppy, First Prize Futurity Winner Junior and Grand Prize Futurity Winner will receive trophies in addition to the cash awards. The award for the Grand Prize Futuri-ty Winner will be a special trophy given by the American Boxer Club, Inc. Said special trophy will become the permanent property of the owner.

17. In the event that a change is made in the Show Date the initially scheduled date will govern the determination of eligibility of nominees. Should the Show Date be set after the initially sched-uled date, all nominees will remain eligible for the age categories for which they were originally eligible. Under no circumstances should a nominee be made ineligible because of the normal fluctuation in the American Kennel Club Corresponding Date Calendar.

18. All checks and money orders are to be made payable to American Boxer Club, Inc. and all nominations of Bitches and Puppies and nomination fees are to be forwarded to the current Futurity Chairman as indicated on the official nominating forms.

19. Futurity Puppies and Juniors must also be entered in any of the American Kennel Club Regular Classes or any other class in the said Specialty Show following the judging of the Futurity. The Annual Futurity Stake is to be run under these American Boxer Club Conditions approved by the American Kennel Club.

20. Entries for the Futurity and the Specialty are to be made directly with the Superintendent in charge with the appropriate entry fee for each as listed in the Premium List. Failure to enter Pup-pies and Juniors in the Specialty will result in disqualification for competition in the Futurity. The Futurity and Specialty are two distinct and separate shows.

21. A bitch may be nominated for the Futurity after the whelp date if all the previous conditions for the nomination are met and if a fee of $100 is paid. This fee will be added to the cash stake described in item 9 and item 12. The deadline for this late bitch nomination will be a postmark no later than 2 months before the first day of regular classes at the ABC National Specialty. This nomination would make puppies eligible for the Futurity per item 5 if puppies are nominated before their 4 month birth date or per item 22 if puppies are nominated after the 4 month dead-line. (Effective beginning with the 2021 ABC Futurity)

22. A puppy may be nominated after the 4 month birth date of the puppy if the bitch has been nominated per item 4 or item 20, and if a fee of $100 per puppy is paid. This fee will be added to the cash stake described in item 9 and item 12. Annual Maturity Stake Conditions (ABC Only) Updated October 21, 2019

1. The Maturity Stake is an annual event sponsored by the American Boxer Club, Inc, and is exclu-sively for the competition of dogs who were previously nominated for the Futurity. The Maturity will be held in conjunction with the ABC Regional Show.

2. Dogs will be eligible for competition in the Maturity Stake at the second Regional after the year in which they were eligible for the Futurity. Dogs may compete only at this Maturity event and not in earlier or later Regional events except as herein otherwise provided. It is not necessary that a dog have been entered in the Futurity to be eligible for the Maturity.

3. A dog nominated for the Futurity Puppy class (6 months and under 12 months) will be eligible for the Junior Maturity class. A dog nominated for the Futurity Junior class (12 months and under 18 months) will be eligible for the Senior Maturity class. Dogs in the Junior Maturity class and in the Senior Maturity class shall not compete against each other except as herein otherwise provid-ed.

4. Futurity nominated dogs are eligible for the Maturity even though sold to a new owner at any time after whelping and up to the Maturity whether the new owner is an ABC member or not.

5. Past Futurity winners as well as Grand Prize Futurity winners can compete in the Maturity in the year in which they become eligible for the Maturity.

6. There are no AKC Championship points connected with the Maturity.

7. No Maturity nomination fees shall apply. The American Boxer Club will donate $5 from each Maturity show entry fee to the Cash Stake. Two stakes will be created for the maturity. One stake will be exclusively for the Junior Maturity competition and one stake will be exclusively for the Senior Maturity competition.

8. The Cash Stake from the Junior Maturity entries will be divided as cash awards as herein below set forth. a. Owner of First Prize Maturity Winner Junior .......... 80% b. Owner of Grand Prize Maturity Winner ................. 20%

11. The Cash Stake from the Senior Maturity entries will be divided as cash awards as herein below set forth. a. Owner of First Prize Maturity Winner Senior .......... 80% b. Owner of Grand Prize Maturity Winner ................. 20%

12. Senior Maturity classes shall be as follows: a. Brindle dogs previously eligible as Futurity Senior entries b. Fawn dogs previously eligible as Futurity Senior entries c. Brindle bitches previously eligible as Futurity Senior entries d. Fawn bitches previously eligible as Futurity Senior entries

13. One winner shall be selected from each of said classes and from these winners will be select-ed the First Prize Maturity Winner Senior.

14. The First Prize Maturity Winner Junior will compete against the First Prize Maturity Winner Senior and the winner will be designated Grand Prize Maturity Winner. 15. The Grand Prize Maturity Winner will receive a trophy in addition to cash prizes.

16. The eligibility of the dogs for the Maturity will remain the same regardless of the Regional show date. If a Regional is not held in a given year, then eligibility of dogs will carry through to the next Regional year. Under no circumstances should an eligible entry be made ineligible because of the calendar date of a Regional or the absence of a Regional in a given year.

17. Junior Maturity and Senior Maturity entries must also be entered in any of the American Kennel Club Regular Classes or any other class in the said ABC Regional show.

18. Entries for the Maturity and the Regional are to be made directly with the superintendent in charge with the appropriate entry fee for each as listed in the premium list. The Maturity Stake is to be run under these American Boxer Club conditions approved by the American Kennel Club.

19. Failure to enter Maturity Juniors and Maturity Seniors in the Regional will result in disqualifi-cation for competition in the Maturity. The Maturity and the Regional are two distinct and sepa-rate shows.

20. The judge for the Maturity will be selected at the same time the Regional judge is selected.

• PARKING: Ample free car parking is available. • The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 7:00 am on Monday, October 12, 2020. Dogs must be removed from the Show Site immediately following Best in Show judging Sunday, October 18, 2020.

• Royal Canin Ring will be locked from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. • NO DOGS TO BE LEFT OVERNIGHT.

• Grooming in designated areas only!

• No gasoline or diesel generators permitted within 100 ft. of any building in which the show is conducted.

• Use of private exercise pens is not permitted inside the building and are strongly discouraged around the building perimeter.

• Inside crating in designated areas only. Crates must be stacked. No soft-sided crates permitted.

2020 RV Parking Guidelines Preference will be given to pre-registrations. No-shows will not receive a refund. Sites will be assigned in the order appropriate based on arrival. If you want to camp together, send your reservations by mail and in one envelope. No booths, signage, products, activities or communications of any kind that represents pet food or litter products companies other than Royal Canin (“Non-Royal Canin Products”) shall be permitted. Parking will be on a compacted gravel/dirt lot adjacent to the Roberts Cen-tre.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER-NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy. $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in FSS Open Shows. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash-only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb-ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed.
