Get creative! The 26th annual Montgomery County Recycled Art Contest has moved online! Family or
household teams as well as individual students are encouraged to create a unique work of art using items destined for the recycling bin or
trash can.
This contest promotes environmental awareness among students, families, and households, while also encouraging
creative thinking.
ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES The contest is open to all Montgomery County K-12 students and their
family/household. Recycled art entries must be designed and built with a
focus on the use of recyclable materials. Submit your recycled art entry
individually or enter as a team!

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded in each of the above categories.
CONTEST TIMELINE Projects Due: Submit photos by Earth Day! Wednesday, April 22 Winners Announced: Wednesday, May 6
HOW TO ENTER YOUR RECYCLED ARTWORK Complete an entry form
Snap 2 to 4 photos of your art entry (JPEG photos preferred)
Please include all angles and views to highlight recyclables used!

SCULPTURE CATEGORY
SCULPTURE GUIDELINES Sculptures cannot exceed 4-feet-wide, by 4-feet-
long, by 4-feet-tall. Entries exceeding these limits will be disqualified
All recycled materials must be visible in order to be counted in the judging process
Use of glass is NOT permitted
JUDGING WILL BE BASED ON: Percentage of art made from recyclable materials
(aluminum, paper, plastic, metals)
Originality (sculpture can be realistic or abstract)
Design and artistic impact (WOW factor)
Complexity of sculpture
