KAHCF CANCELLATION POLICYCancellations received seven (7) workdays prior to the seminar date will receive a full refund. Cancellations received inside of seven (7) workdays will receive one-half refund. Participants who do not attend will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office. All cancellations must be made in writing and may be emailed or faxed to the Association office. Phone cancellations will not be accepted.

PAYMENT AND COLLECTION POLICYMembers shall pay for conventions or seminars in advance. All registrations must be accompanied by complete payment or a “purchase order.” Registrations received without payment will not be processed until above conditions are met. If “purchase order” is used, full payment must be received seven (7) days prior to seminar or convention. Any payment not received prior to the event shall be billed at the non-member rate. All registrations received without payment or “purchase order” will be invoiced at time registration is received. If membership dues or any invoices are 90 days in arrears, registration fee for seminar or convention will be charged at the non-member rate unless payment is made in full seven (7) days prior to seminar or convention.

Session 4—Understanding CMI And Medicaid ReimbursementThis session focuses on the importance of understanding Kentucky’s Medicaid reimbursement programs. Your team’s overall purpose is to provide excellent care to your residents. In order to support this purpose, the facility must receive reimbursement. This session will help ensure that you are not omitting items that could affect your reimbursement and provide an overview of the Medicaid Rate and how different components affect your rate. Topics will include: Case Mix Index (CMI) reports, downloading CMI reports, residents that should be included in the CMI, case mix management strategies, capital rate component, requesting a capital re-appraisal, and various other Medicaid reimbursement caveats. Session 5—Update on Emergency Preparedness and CMS Initiative Regarding Transfer and CMS Initiative Regarding Transfer and Discharge The Kentucky Office of the Inspector General’s presentation will cover two popular subjects: an update on emergency preparedness and the survey process and the CMS initiative to examine and mitigate facility-initiated discharges that violate federal regulations. The regulations under 42 CFR 483.15 regarding admission, transfer and discharge will be reviewed and the frequency cited will be discussed.
