ForwardWe hope this step‐by‐step guide will be helpful to you in setting up your initial or returning player registration.

PlayersThree methods are available

to complete your 2020 Player Registration

1. Online registration + online paymentRegister yourself online and pay online by credit card.

2. Online registration + physical paymentRegister yourself online and pay $25 through team captain.

3. Physical registration + physical paymentFill out/sign forms with team captain and give $25 fee to team captain.Later, watch your email for an invitation from the website with a link inviting you to log on and complete your online profile. [optional, but strongly encouraged]

Please complete the player survey. It contains the typical information we ask on a new player registration form. Some fields are required. You can control who has access to the information, eg, yourself only, your team captain and/or the public. You can update it anytime.

At the bottom of the page, click on the blue button –Next: Waivers>>

InstructionsRead the Waiver and Statement of IndemnificationIt is the same as last year.

At the bottom of the page, click on the top button agreeing to the waiver.

Then click on the blue button –Next: Checkout>>

InstructionsYour registration has now been submitted.

Your registration will be reviewed by a league official to ensure you are an expected player for your team. If there is a question, your team captain will be contacted to verify.

Once approved, you will receive an email notification. If it says your registration is free, it is temporary. Wait a day and return to the website to see the $25 charge applied, then you can remit payment.

You will have an option to pay $25 online.

Or, you may pay by check to your team captain. The league treasurer will mark your account paid once she has received your 2019 player fee. Your player registration is not complete until payment has been received.

NOTE: Your initial balance may show as $0.00. If so, we will manually adjust it to $25 once your player registration is approved.

Method 2If you are not paying online, ignore the notice. It will go away once your check has been received by the treasurer and your account has been credited.

PaymentOnce your $25 player fee has been posted for payment, you will see a red box next to the Events tab. Click on it to make a payment by credit card for your 2020 registration.The dropdown menu will look like this:

Instructions for paying by check1. Pay your $25 player registration fee to your team captain.

Make check payable to your team’s checking account or payable to Granny Basketball.

2. Sign the league’s 2020 Waiver & Indemnification form. (A new form is available on the website and will be provided to team leaders.)

3. Work with your team captain or other teammate to set up orupdate your player information online.

4. Your team captain will mail or deliver the fees and completed form to the league’s treasurer, along with the list of names to credit on their accounts, to:Marj Madison, 5314 N.E. 10th St., Des Moines, IA 50313.

3. As checks are received, a league official will mark players paid.

Player Profile(optional, but highly recommended)

Whenever you are logged in (see upper right corner of screen), you can click on Account from the drop‐down list and set up (or edit) your player profile anytime.

You can set preferences and privacy settings here.

Special Situations“Grandmothering”

In the event a player that joined and paid her 2019 fee Sept. 1 or later, she can be “grandmothered” in, so that she does not need to pay the fee again for 2020.

All players will need to re‐register for 2020, eventhose that registered after Sept. 1.

League officials has a list of players eligible for “grandmothering” and will waive the fees to their accounts upon receipt of their online player registration form.

Special SituationsRegistering your players for them

The website provides a feature that would allow a registered user to complete registrations on behalf of their teammate(s).

Refer to slide 9 and select:

o Register a family member,team member or friend.

Follow the prompts.

Be prepared to enter theirplayer information.

Special SituationsTeam member that is not a “Granny”

In the event you have a team member who is not a Granny Basketball player (eg, male or not >50 years old), such as a team coach, referee, or scorekeeper, they can register with your team as a “non‐player.” All non‐playing volunteers are encouraged to register.
