ThankyouforyourenquiryandtrustinginINDUSTRIEasyourchosendanceschoolforyourdancer.Thereare

manydanceschoolstochoosefrom,howeverchoosingtherightoneforyourdancerisanimportantdecision,

weareheretolookafteryouduringyourtimeatourstudios.

AtINDUSTRIEweareawareoftheverydifferentreasonschildrendance,thereforeitisessentialweoffer

differentlevelsofdanceclassesensuringwecreatetherightatmosphereforeverydancersneeds,whilst

maintainingthesamelevelofprofessionaltuitionforeachofourclasses.Wetrulyhaveadanceclassthatwill

IMPORTANT….Yourteachersworkveryhardandoftenextensivelyoutofhours-customercareandcommunicationisveryimportanttous,however,weaskthatourprivatetimeisrespected.ItisnotpreferabletosendusbusinessqueriesviaourprivateFacebookaccountsand/ornotethatyourtextmessagessentduringourprivatetimewillonlybeansweredataconvenienttime.Wemakeourselvesveryavailableandyouareveryimportanttous,howeverforeffectivecommunicationandoutofrespectforourprivacyandfamilytime,weaskthatyouarepatientwithourresponsetime,particularlyoutofhours.Weknowasparents

youwillunderstandourrequest. CLASS AND STUDIO RULES Toensureasmoothlyrunningdanceschool,pleasemakeyourselffamiliarwiththefollowingrequirements;

§ Parentsarenotpermittedtowatchclasses–itsverydistractingtobothteacherandstudents,howeverwedoinviteparentsinoccasionallythroughouttheyeartoseeourprogress.

§ Allcostumingisorganisedbyteachers–thisincludessolo/duo/groupsetc.§ Togetresultsfromindividualsandgroupswerequirecommitmenttoclasseachweek.Absenceissometimes

unavoidable,howeverweaskthatyoucontacttheoffice(priortolessonsstarting)toletusknowifyouwillbeawayoraresick.

§ Shouldadancermissclassitisappropriatefortheteachertokeeptheabsentstudentoutofthechoreographytaughtthatdayand/oranymajorchanges.Thisofcourseisonlyontheoccasionthegrouparepreparingforperformancesandwhentimeisnotonourside.Thisisnotapunishment(absencesareunavoidableattimes),ratheragoodsolutionforbothteacher(whohasajobtodo),absentstudent(toalleviatepressureandstressto

catchup)andpresentgroupmembers(whoexpecttocontinuemovingforwardatalllessons).Thiswillbeattheteacher’sdiscretionbutmustbenotedbyparentsandstudents.

§ PleasebeawarethatatIPAweDOdanceonpublicholidaysandstudentfreedays.§ Studentmobilephonesaretobeonsilentduringclassanditisnotacceptabletotouchanyoneelse’sprivate

property.§ Allstudentsareexpectedtotakeprideintheirappearance,bereadyforclassontimeandrespecttheirteachers

andfellowstudentsatalltimes.§ Agoodattitudegoesalong,longway.

WAITING ROOM Ourwaitingroomistherefortheconvenienceofourdancers.Parentsareaskedtodropstudentstoclassandleavetoavoidovercrowding.Thewaitingroomistobeusedasaspacefordancerstowarmupandprepareforclass.Parentsofjuniordancersareinvitedtositandwaitfortheirchildreniftheychooseto.Weaskthatyoupleasebecarefulofyourconversationandlanguageinwaitingrooms,astherearelittledancerspresentatalltimes. PICK UP & DROP OFF Thereisplentyofpubliccarparkingavailabletoparentsfordropoff&pickup.StudentsaretoweartheirIPAtracksuitorotherappropriateclothingwhenarrivingandleavingthestudio.Wedonotliketoseestudentswalkingaroundintheirdancewearoutsideofthestudioduetothebusyareainwhichwearelocated.Studentsaretobecollectedfrominsideourstudiosandaskthatstudents(particularlyyoungerstudents)donotwaitoutside,andremindparentsweareunabletosuperviseorbeliableforyourchildrenoncetheyleavethestudio.Studentsshouldarrive15minutesearlytowarmupinourwaitingroom.Werunatightscheduleandexpectallstudentstobeready(incorrectdancewearwithshoeson)ontime.Teacherswillcollectstudentsfromthewaitingroomwhentheyarereadytocommenceclass.COSTUMING Youcanexpecttopurchase2–3groupcostumesforgrouproutinesperyear,thisisaguideonlyanddependsonyourlevelofclass(i.ejuniorandnon-competitivestudentscostumingcostsarekepttoaminimumasyouonlywearyourcostumesonceayear).Ifyoudoadditionalclasses,itislikelyyouwillrequireadditionalcostuming.Ouraimistomakedancingasaffordableaspossibleforallfamiliessoyourchildrencancontinuetheirpassionwhilststillfocusingonquality.Priortoanyperformance,invoiceswillbesentoutoutliningyourconfirmedfullgroupcostumecosts(thisexcludesyoursolo/duocostumesastheywillbeinvoiced/arrangedseparately).Youwillhave4weekstopayyourcostumingaccountinfull.WeintroducedahirewardrobetoIPA(foundedin2018)andareexcitedforallfamiliesbenefitfromthisset-up,eitherbywayofhiringgroupcostumingatalowercostand/orthestudiobuyingbackexistingcostumesyouhavepaidfor,henceputtingmoneybackinyourpocket.Pleasenotethatnewcostumingissometimesunavoidable,howeverwewillusewardrobebenefitsforallgroupswherewecan.Yourcostumingrequirements/costswillbemadeofficialpriortoaperformance.Theaboveisaguideonly.Itisveryimportanttousthatwekeepcostumingcostsdownasmuchaswecanwhilstmaintainingquality. FEES Feesshouldbepaidasperourfeeschedule(copyavailableonourwebsite).If,foranyreason,youarehavingdifficultywithpayments,pleasecontacttheofficetodiscussyouroptions.Yourinformationisalwaysstrictlyconfidential.Parentshavetherighttowithdrawtheirenrolmentatanytime.Wedoaskforacourtesycalltoinformusofyourdecision.Teachersalsohavetherighttocancelclassesshouldanemergencyarise.Ifareplacementteachercannottakeclassinourabsence,parentswillbenotifiedofcancelledclasses(note,youwillreceiveafullrefundforcancelledclasses,whenasubstituteteacherorassistantisnotavailabletoteach). CODE OF CONDUCT AtIndustrieweareseriousaboutcreatingagreatdanceculture.Pleasereadthebelowtoyourdancerandensurebothparentanddancerareawareofourexpectations.Shouldweconsideranyofourcodesarebeingviolated,wewilladdressbothparentand/orstudentinperson.ShouldthematternotberesolvedimmediatelywewillofferourassistanceinrecommendinganotherDanceStudio.AhappyandsafeenvironmentforalldancersistheonlywayatIndustrie.

• Dancersareapartofateam.Itisessentialforalldancerstorespect,encourageandsupporttheirteammembers.Speakingnegativelyaboutothersperformancesandabilitywillnotbetolerated.

• Whilstweencourageourdancerstotakeupasmanyopportunitiesaspossible,itiscourtesytoletyourtrainingfaculty(IndustriePerformingArts)knowofanyoutside‘dancerelated’projectsthatyoumaybeconsidering,toavoidconflictofinterestandoutofrespecttoyourteacherswhoputsomucheffortintocreatingtheperformeryouareandtolimitclassclashes–withoutyourtrainingfromyourchosenstudio,youwouldnothavethetoolstotakeonfurtheropportunitiesthatareofferedoutsideofthestudio,sopleasebemindfulandconsiderateatalltimes.ShouldIndustriefeelitbeaseriousconflictofinterestwehavetherighttodenypermissionandaskthatparentsandstudentsrespectourdecision.Independentsolochoreographyispermitted,butonlyoutofIPApremises/studios.

• Dancersandparentsaretorespectallteachersdecisionsinandoutofclass.Wecan’tdoourjobwell,withouttrustandrespect.Letusdoourjob!

• AtIndustrieweliketoteachresilientchildren.Ourpolicyistodealwithanyissueasithappenswithintheclassandencouragechildrentoletusknowifsomeonehasupsetthemonthespot.Thereisadifferencebetweenbullying,teasingandkidsbeingkids,however,allmatterswillbedealtwithaccordinglyandencourageparentstohelpusbuildresilientchildrenofthefuturebyencouragingthemtostandup,speakupanddiscusswithusfreely.

• Itisnotappropriateforaparenttohaveinputintoaroutine,danceclassdecisionsorourcreativevisionwithoutadanceordesignbackgroundandeventhenwewillaskshouldweneedyourassistance.

UNIFORM & CLASS ETIQUETTE Ourstudiocoloursaregrey&white.Uniforminclassiscompulsory(availablefororderthreetimesperyearfromreception),ifyoudonothaveofficialuniform,plainblackdanceattireONLYshouldbeworntoclass.RADballetclassattireisaccordingtoRADrequirementsandisavailableonourwebsite.AllIPAdancersareencouragedtowearourIndustriejackets&pantsproudly(thisisourofficialandpublicuniformandistobewornwhenrepresentingIPAatalltimes)andwillalsobeavailablefororderinterm1ofeveryyear.
