OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMDepartment of Civil Engineering,Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women(A) is already known for its active commencement inorganizing free webinars in the name STRING WEBINAR SERIES 1 & 2,ONE WEEK SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAM, onlineevents platform like DIGITAL VYING. And with the same spirit, we have come up with instigation to organize one more free oneweek short term training and faculty development program. The pandemic COVID-19 has been shaking the entire world where weare quarantining ourselves to fight  the terrible virus. Social distancing is being implemented everywhere and the entire educationsystem has become digital. Online classes have become more predominant and a favourable platform for gaining knowledge. Thuswith an intention to succour people, we have come up with this one week training program in continuation with the previous one.STTP & FDP is designed in such a way that the participants grabs an advantage of being exposed to recent advancements in ourvery own field of Civil Engineering. Further adding to it, STTP & FDP confers more of practical and rare situations that are to bedealt with. Thereby, STTP & FDP accords the most possible ways of handling situations availing advancements in the field of CivilEngineering.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTABOUT THE COLLEGE ABOUT THE PROGRAMThe field of Civil Engineering is acreative one and the problemsencountered in this field are generallyunstructured and imprecise influenced byintuitions and past experiences. Theconventional methods  doesn't alwaysendeavour a result . To study suchproblems and seeking a solution is rathera challenging task. Young students,Practising Engineers, Research Scholars and Faculty needs to have an ideaabout the Recent Advancements in CivilEngineering: Challenges and FuturePerspectives. This program propoundstwelve webinars by well experiencedfaculty and research associates fromNITs and IITs as well as by industrialexperts from UltraTech Cement Limited.

The Department of Civil Engineering (CE),SVECWwas established in the academic year 2009-2010 withan annual intake of 60. The Department is accreditedby NBA under Tier II. The Department of CivilEngineering received the project from Department ofScience and Technology (DST), New Delhi worth ofRs 59,866 lakhs for the construction of 3 nos sewagetreatment plants in the SVEC Campus to treat thewaste water. The treated waste water is utilized forvarious purposes and also serves  Bhimavaram Town.The Department has good strength of specializedpersons from Structural, Geotechnical, WaterResources, Transportation and Geo Informatics. TheDepartment periodically organizes seminars,symposia, FDPs, workshops and guest lectures for thebenefit of both the students and the faculty. Apartfrom the regular academics and activities, studentsare motivated and encouraged towards researchworks under the guidance of the HOD who has wonWorld Research Council International BestResearcher Award of the year 2020 in the area ofTerramechanics and Nano Materials in Pavements.The Department has an excellent blend of young andzestful HOD, with well experienced and diligentfaculty.

Shri Vishnu Engineering College forWomen (SVECW) was established duringacademic year 2001-2002 to empowerwomen in professional courses. Thisinstitute has witnessed significant growthwithin a period of 15 years and stands outas one of the best engineering colleges inAP. This institute is accredited by NAACwith 'A' grade. This institution is underautonomous status from the academic year2014-2015 and it is the first women'scollege under JNTUK to get such anautonomous status. In recognition of itsprogressive strides, the World Bank hasgranted TEQIP Phase - II project toSVECW. Indian Merchant's Chamber(IMC) recognised the services of SVECWwith its Ramakrishna Bajaj NationalQuality Award in education sector. .
