The Dance studio, agrees to the Video Release policy in association with Synergy Dance Competition hosted by Global Dance Services Inc of 45170 Redwood Avenue, Chilliwack, BC, V2R 1W2, under the following conditions: Diamond dancer videos will be released onto the Video Hall of Fame on our website which is hosted by Youtube and shared on our Facebook page. Studios may request that their videos be released under the following conditions:
. 1) Studios agree that all choreographers registered desire for their videos to be released, and understand that it is the studios responsibility to ensure that the choreographer knows their work will be posted on our public platform.
. 2) Due to the mass volume of video production, Synergy Dance cannot accept video processing requests of any kind. Studios understand there is an “all or nothing” policy, studios may not allow work from only specific choreographers; the studio must release all of their diamond performances or none of them.
. 3) Time restrictions cannot be requested. Studios may not request specific times for the release of their videos. The videos are processed in live time and will be released any time in the active season. Studios may not request that the video be released after the season ends. If a studio does not wish for their videos to be released immediately they must select ‘does not want’ videos to be released and they will not be released at all.
. 4) Urgency requests are not accepted, videos are released in random order, studios may not request urgent posting of their videos, the release is in random order and completed as per the media departments availability.
. 5) Studios may not change their original release request. Please select carefully. Selecting “no” on a video release may not change to “yes” or vice versa at any time after it has been formally submitted. The video release request form is binding and not changeable after submission, videos are produced live.
. 6) Monetary gains, Synergy Dance is not set up for monetary gains on the video hosting platform. Studios may not request to be paid for the release of their video. The Video Hall of Fame is a complimentary service provided for the enjoyment of studios, guests and the general public. Synergy Dance reserves the right to cancel the provision of this service at any time and does not guarantee a video will be released.
. 7) Signed Release does not Guarantee Publication, there are several factors that may prevent our ability to release a diamond video including technical complications and youtube copyright. If Youtube has a copyright claim against the song selected for the performance, Youtube may mute the audio track, delete the video all together or limit it’s play options on cell phones and/or in specific countries. Synergy Dance Competition has no authority over Youtube copyright claims and cannot override the disciplinary measures taken by Youtube hosting.

Solo/Duo/Trio Provincial Finals Qualification Solo Registry (not eligible to qualify)
Solo/Duo/Trios may register in events and finish in the top ten (cash awards) dance
routines without any restriction. Solos/Duos/Trios may enter as many times as they like and they do not need to be in a group to participate.
-‐however-‐ Solos/Duo/Trio dancers must also be performing in any GROUP from the same studio to
be eligible to advance to the provincial finals. This rule is in effect to ensure that the provincial finals seats are going to dancers who are attending with their studio in full
rather than “solo hopping” and entering “only one solo.”

Soloists Full name of dancer
Discipline (ie, jazz)
Duos/Trios Name of Routine
Discipline (ie, jazz)
Additional Notes:
From our studio the following Solos and Duos/Trios are not eligible to advance to the provincial finals as they are not also registered in a group performance:
2019 Registration Checklist
Before Submitting Dance Comp Genie Account:
☐ I have deleted all of the graduated dancers and those no longer attending the studio -‐-‐-‐ (Important!) if studios do not clean out their expired dancers regularly and your account grows too large it may be deleted and you will need to re-‐enter student information each year –or-‐ choose to be billed for server data fees.
☐ I am aware that only the top three Pre-‐Competitive routines groups advance to the showdown finals and have their own top ten awards but solos/duos do not advance to the provincial finals and I have placed my routines as desired.
☐ I understand it is easiest for me to understand my final schedule if the routine name (ie song title) of my soloists are their name and style “Sally Dancer-‐ Jazz” then “Sally Dancer-‐Lyrical” .... In the event program solos will only appear as first and last name. Music is loaded online and labeling of files is important. Including only the dancers name will be problematic, include the style –or-‐ song name alternatively.
☐ I have not added any extra comma’s or periods after my dancers names in the registration -‐-‐-‐ for example ... sally, dancer,, Important: This will significantly delay obtaining a draft schedule! Do not use extra punctuation!
☐ I understand that my registration syncs to the final event program. I have not entered my data for dancers/choreographers in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Important: Entries in CAPITAL LETTERS cannot be accepted.
☐ I have checked the spelling of my routine names and choreographers. I have updated my “TBA” routines.
☐ Music is loaded online in the summary area of your online account. Again it is very important that you have labeled your soloists properly for you to be able to load your music properly! You may load music up until roughly two weeks before the event the music deadline is listed online. Music may be .MP3 or .M4a – sorry no CD’s or cellphones. All music is loaded online.
☐ Minimum registration per event is $500.
After Submitting Dance Comp Genie Account:
☐ I have submitted the Dance Comp Genie Registration AND I have checked that GST has been added to the amount owing before writing the payment (see payment form) .... GST isn’t added until the very final step at checkout.
☐ Payment has been written to GLOBAL DANCE SERVICES, sorry cheques made to “Synergy Dance” cannot be cashed and new payment will be required.
☐ I have sent the payment and the 2019 terms of participation which includes five pages.
☐ I do not need to print anything from Dance Comp Genie, all registration files are submitted electronically.

Routines that are found to be over the time limit will be disqualified from winning overall awards in the finals. Time limits can be located on the Synergy website. Routines longer than five minutes must be entered into Production, solos/duos and trios may not be overtime.

Cash awards expire at the end of our fiscal year, all cash awards unclaimed by July 1st will be cancelled with stop payment and will not be reissued.
Placement Fairness: Any discrepancy in the number of dancers performing, level or category, will result in the routine being adjudicated for commentary only. Routines found to be in non-compliance with official rules are not eligible for high score or cash awards. Routines found to have more dancers than registered in the event will be charged a $100 unlisted dancer fine.
Event Cancellation Refund Policy: I acknowledge and accept the terms of the cancellation refund policy; Synergy Dance Competition will provide a full refund for all events cancelled at the discretion of the competition director. In the event of a natural or political disaster including but not limited to; extreme snow or poor weather, tsunami, flood, earth quake, fire or political turmoil that makes it either illegal or impossible to run the event, Synergy Dance Competition will provide notice and will refund the above dance studio for cancelled entries only if the cancellation of event is made illegal or impossible before the event has started. If natural or political disaster occurs while the rental agreement with the host venue is already in progress cancellation of the scheduled events due to disaster will not require written notice and refund compensation will not be awarded. Refunds for injury will only be provided when accompanied by a doctors not and the application is received at least two weeks before the event.
Re-Dance Policy: Re-dances are permitted in the novice, recreational, pre-competitive and adult categories for any reason including an abandoned stage. Re-dances in the competitive division are not permitted with the exception of dancers in the 5-6yrs age division and under. Re-dances for music technical complications are permitted in any level, the routine will be judged as if it is being seen for the first time. Re-dances for all other performances due to costume malfunction, injury, prop complications etc, are permitted but will be for adjudication only. The participant requesting to re-dance will do so for adjudication only and consequently withdrawal from the category.
Dance Off Policy: I acknowledge that the dance off policy is as follows; If dancers cannot attend their assigned call time and need to “dance off” they may perform for placement in their category if they perform the morning of their scheduled routine, usually at 8:45am. If the routine requires performing on an entirely different day, they are NOT eligible for placement in the category –OR- they may request a video review. There is a $100 video review fee. At the time of the category, during the competition the judges will video review the routine that was “danced off” earlier in order to ensure that the original score assigned to that routine remains accurate after seeing the category in its entirety to ensure the category is judged fairly. Routines may “dance off” due to exceptional circumstances only.
Video Adjudication Error Rates: I understand and accept that there is an expected video adjudication error rate of 5-7% for all events. For example for every 100 routines, it is expected that 5-7 of these may have an error. The reason for these errors may be any number of technical complications such as labelling error, equipment failure/overheating or system malfunctions. In some cases the file may be recovered and sent to the studio at a later date. In some cases the file may have a permanent corruption, in this case I acknowledge that my studio will not receive a video adjudication for that routine. Video adjudications will be loaded online and available within one week after the event.
Provincial Finals Qualification: Solo/Duos/Trios may not qualify for provincial finals unless the dancers are in any group performance from the same studio. Pre-Competitive solos/duos/trios do not advance to the provincial finals. Only the highest scoring pre-competitive group advances.
