She owns 87 career ground balls to rank 34th all-time at Duke in the category.

FACING THE NATION’S BEST IN CONFERENCE PLAY • The Blue Devils continue a tough stretch in the schedule Wednesday in Chestnut Hill, facing the nation’s sixth-ranked team in Notre Dame. Duke is coming off of matchups against No. 8 Virginia, No. 4 Syracuse, No. 1 Boston College, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 3 North Carolina in the previous five weeks.• The Blue Devils also faced No. 23 Virginia Tech earlier this spring, coming away with an 11-10 victory in overtime. • Duke came in at No. 15 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week.

SCORING STREAKS • Sophomore attacker Charlotte North recorded one tally last weekend against the Tar Heels to give her at least one point in 21 straight contests dating back to last April.• Senior attacker Olivia Jenner has also enjoyed a strong scoring stretch, recording two or more goals in all but one contest this season. She turned in a career-best six-goal performance against No. 4 Syracuse March 30. • Sophomore midfielder Katie Cronin enters the ACC quarterfinal matchup with at least one marker in five straight games.

AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS • The Blue Devils are 20-35 against ranked foes since 2015 following a loss to the third-ranked Tar Heels over the weekend.

OLIVIA JENNER CLIMBING NCAA RECORD BOOK • After reaching the 400-draw control mark for her career at Elon March 3, senior attacker Olivia Jenner continues to climb the NCAA Division I career chart in the category. Already Duke’s all-time draw controls leader, she is second among all active Division I players with 476 career draws. • A nine-draw control effort Saturday against North Carolina saw Jenner surpass Northwestern’s Alyssa Leonard (2011-14) for eighth in the NCAA Division I record book. Robert Morris’ Jessica Karwacki (2013-16) holds the NCAA record with 645 draw controls.

BLUE DEVILS RENEW COLLABORATION WITH DCI • Duke’s March 30 contest against Syracuse at Koskinen Stadium saw the Blue Devils renew their collaboration with the Duke Cancer Institute (DCI). The squad hosted its second annual “It Takes A Team - DukeWLax for DCI” game. The aim of the collaboration with DCI is to build awareness and raise funds for the organization.• The Blue Devils also welcomed eight-year-old Raleigh native Abby Johnson, who has been cancer-free following the removal of a brain tumor, to the team during Saturday’s contest.• All fundraising efforts stemming from the game directly benefit the “It Takes A Team - DukeWLax for DCI” fund. A donation link can be found at goduke.us/DCI2019.

CENTURY CLUB TIMES TWO • In March, senior attacker Olivia Jenner became the second Blue Devil to reach the 100-goal milestone this season, joining sophomore Charlotte North in achieving the feat. • North became the fastest player in program history to hit 100 career goals March 18 against Davidson. The Dallas, Texas native accomplished the feat in just 26 games.• Both Jenner and North hit the 100-point mark for their careers already this season, with Jenner doing so in the season opener and North reaching the century mark March 1 against William & Mary.

The only head coach in Duke women’s lacrosse history, Kerstin Kimel has led the program from its inception in 1996, molding the Blue Devils into one of the nation’s elite teams.

In Kimel’s 23 seasons at the helm of Duke women’s lacrosse, she has guided the Blue Devils to seven national semifinals, four ACC regular season titles, an ACC Tournament Championship and 19 NCAA Tournament appearances.

A five-time ACC Coach of the Year, Kimel has overseen 59 All-America selections, 83 all-region honorees and 74 All-ACC picks. Seven of her former players have represented their countries on the world’s stage, competing at the 2009, 2013 and 2017 World Cups. The Blue Devils have achieved equal success in the classroom during Kimel’s tenure, collecting 67 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll accolades since 1997.

Kimel registered her 250th career victory Feb. 22, 2015 in a win over William & Mary. She is one of just six active Division I head coaches with 295 or more wins.

Kimel was honored with an IWLCA Service Award in November, 2016 for her work as co-chair of the NCAA Division I Legisla-tion Committee to slow down early recruiting within the sport. She was presented with the IWLCA’s highest award, the Diane Geppi-Aikens Memorial Award, in November, 2015.

Most recently, Kimel served as Co-Chair of the IWLCA Recruiting Issues Committee from 2014-16 and is currently the Chair of the IWLCA Division I Legislative Committee and the South Region FBS representative on the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee.

Prior to her arrival at Duke, Kimel was the head coach at Davidson College, leading the newly-created Wildcats program to a 4-8 record in 1994 as one of the nation’s youngest head coaches in her first and only season at Davidson.

Kimel was no stranger to NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse before her time at Davidson, having played at the University of Maryland from 1990-93. During her career, she led the Terrapins to four consecutive national semifinal appearances and the 1992 NCAA National Championship. The Havertown, Pa., native was a two-time All-America selection and the 1993 NCAA National Defensive Player of the Year, appearing in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd.” Kimel graduated from Maryland in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications.
