2019 Voluntary Disclosure/Voluntary Self-Disclosure SeminarJanuary 15, 2019 | Crystal Gateway Marriott | Arlington, Virginia
SIA is pleased to present a half-day seminar showcasing Voluntary Disclosures/Voluntary Self-Disclosures and the newly restructured/revised SIA ITAR Voluntary Disclosures Handbook! Potential noncompliance may be discovered in myriad ways—and both DDTC and BIS encourage the submission of disclosures by parties who believe they may have violated the regulations. However, the process for identifying and investigating, managing, and reporting potential violations in even the most sophisticated companies can be complex and challenging. Join your peers in the trade compliance profession to learn strategies for effectively scoping your investigation, risk assessment approaches for root cause and corrective action analysis, as well as recent violation trends due to regulatory changes. The seminar will conclude with real compliance case studies that explore best practices and lessons learned in the voluntary disclosure process.
Speakers invited include members of the U.S. government and industry who will provide real-world insight on the tools, processes, and strategies used to successfully submit Voluntary Disclosures/Voluntary Self-Disclosures to the U.S. Government.
Mr. Richard Ashooh, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, will be the guest speaker during lunch. SIA will also announce the 2018 Volunteer and Speaker of the Year.
