TO BEGIN:Santas Face and Beard:On The Palette: Slate Grey, Cotton Candy, Asphaltum, Warm White, Lamp Black, Alizarine Crimson

Base the face and mouth with Cotton Candy, The in-side of the mouth with Alizarin Crimson. Base the eyes with Warm White. Base the beard with Slate Grey.

To the eyes Add a dot of Prussian Blue for the iris and add a small dot of white on the upper left side of the Iris for a highlight.

Shade the face with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum, Un-der the hat and along the edge of the beard. . Add a blush to the cheeks with a light dry brush of Alizarine

Crimson. A small dot of white is added to each cheek for a fi nal highlight.

The beard is over stroked with fi ne lines of Warm White. Using thinned Warm White and the 6/0 Liner. Once it is complete Shade the beard with a fl oat of Asphaltum.

The Robes and Hat: On The palette: Warm White, Asphaltum, Napa Red,

Base the robe and the hat with Napa Red. Let it dry, then dry brush with Warm White. Shade along the edge of the trim ( on the red) with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum.

The Cuff s and Trim:On The Palette: Warm White, 24 Kt Gold, Lamp Black, Titanium White, Burlap, Sea Breeze

The Checked trim is done by alternating with lamp Black and Titanium White. ( Use a liner)

The Braid in between the checked bands is based with 24 Kt Gold, then a wash of Sea Breeze is applied over the Gold. The trim is based with Burlap, then washed with thinned Asphaltum. When dry, dry brush over the trim with Warm White.

The Boots and Belt:On The Palette: Lamp Black , Warm White, 24 Kt Gold

Base the Boots and the Belt with Lamp Black. The Buckles are based with 24 Kt Gold. Dry brush the boots and belt with Warm White. Shade along the edges of the Belt ( on the robe) and above the boots with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum.

The Pipe:On The Palette: Warm White, Saff ron Yellow and Alizarine Crimson.

The pipe is based with Warm White and lightly dry brushed with Asphaltum, The fi re in the bowl is based with Saff ron Yellow and then shaded with a fl oat of thinned Nappa Red.

The Teddy Bear:On The Palette: Raw Sienna, Asphaltum, Warm White, Lamp Black.

Base the bear with Raw Sienna. Apply a wash of

thinned Asphlautm over the Whole bear allowing the colour to settle into the texture of the fur. Let it dry then Dry brush lightly with Warm White. Add Lamp Black dots for the eyes and the Nose and highlight with a small dot of Warm White. Shade around the muzzle with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum.

The Sack and Toys: On The Palette: Navy Blue, Warm White, Raw Sienna,Nappa red, Plantation Pine, The Sack is based with navy Blue, The drawstring is based with Raw Sienna.

The Braid on the bottom of the sack is based with 24 Kt Gold, then a wash of Sea Breeze is ap-plied over the Gold.

The candy canes are based with Napa red and Warm White, The Ball is based with Napa Red and Plantation Pine, The Bell is based with Sea Breeze and Warm White. Shade around the toys with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum.

The Chimney and Snow:On The Palette: Titanium White, Napa Red, Sea Breeze, Glamour Dust.

base the bricks with kappa red. base the Snow with Titanium White. Shade under the Snow ( on the red) with a fl oat of thinned Asphaltum.

Apply a wash of heavily thinned Sea Breeze over the White and while wet lightly dust with Glam-our Dust.

FINISHING: Apply two to three light coats of DecoArt matt Spray to sea the surface.
