WELCOME TO THE 2019 CLASSIC RACER MAGAZINE CLASSIC TT LAP OF HONOUR
I would like to encourage you to read this document in full because it contains a lot of important information so that you
hopefully get the most out of your experience at the event and to ensure it is as hassle free as possible. It is very much in
your own interests to do this and to understand everything that has been outlined.
The Department for Enterprise (DfE) teams are on hand to help you through the entry process, right up to the event.

port of call if you have any issues.

ISLE OF MANFESTIVAL OF MOTORCYCLINGThe Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling is a two-week celebration of motorcycling and motorcycle
sport, held annually on the Isle of Man. The festival includes the Isle of Man Classic TT Races
presented by Bennetts, the Manx Grand Prix, the Manx International Classic Trial and the VMCC
Rally along with a number of smaller supporting events.

• TheIsleofManDepartmentforEnterprisearethePromotersandcommercialrightsownersoftheClassicTTRaces
and have appointed the Manx Motor Cycle Club as Race and Parade Organiser for the event.
• TheClassicRacerMagazineClassicTTLapofHonourisaPR6PASTMASTERSPARADEandwilltakeplaceoverone
lap of the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course and the speed will be controlled by officially appointed Travelling Marshals.
• TheParadeistobeheldundertheStandingRegulationsandConditionsoftheACUforParadestogetherwiththese
SupplementaryRegulationsandanyFinalInstructionsthatmaybeissuedorOfficialAnnouncementsmade.Copies

RIDER ELIGIBILITY
BRITISH LICENCE HOLDERS (ACU AND SACU)
• Participantsmustbeaminimumof18yearsofageandholdacurrentACURoadRacecompetitionlicence,acurrent
ACUParadeLicenceoraClassADVLAmotorcyclelicence.Participantsover70yearsofagemustholdacurrentACU
RoadRaceCompetitionLicenceoracurrentACUParadeLicence.
NON BRITISH LICENCE HOLDERS (IRELAND, EUROPE AND REST OF WORLD)
• Participantsmustbeaminimumof18yearsofageandholdacurrentRoadRacecompetitionlicenceoracurrent
ParadeLicenceissuedbythegoverningbodyformotorcycleracingintheircountryofresidence.
• ParticipantsmustproduceavalidStartPermissiondocumentissuedbythegoverningbodyformotorcycleracingintheir
country of residence which confirms they are insured against the risk of personal accident to meet with FIM regulations.
• AdditionalinsurancecoverwillberequiredagainstMedicalTreatment€200,000andRepatriation€100,000andmay
be purchased during signing on.

MACHINE ELIGIBILITY
• The2019ClassicRacerMagazineClassicTTLapofHonourisopentomachinesthatmeetthefollowingcriteria:
o Roadracingmotorcyclesandsidecarsmanufacturedpre31stDecember1992
o Other machines as invited to take part by the Promoter or permitted at the discretion of the Promoter.
• RoadgoingmotorcyclesarestrictlyforbiddenapartfromthosepermittedbythePromoter.
INSURANCE
• TheOrganiserundertakestoinsureeachparticipant,indemnifyinghimagainstanythirdpartyclaimsmadearisingout
of the Parade excluding claims by other riders or passengers, entrants, sponsors or mechanics.
INSURANCE COVER IS INCLUDED AS FOLLOWS:
i. TheInsuranceCompany(Brokers)willbeappointedbytheACU
ii. PersonalAccidentbenefitsareincludedforthosetakingpartinPR6Paradesandislimitedto£10,000.00Death,loss
of or loss of use of two limbs or the sight of two eyes, or loss of use one limb and one eye, the loss of or loss of use of
a limb or the sight of an eye. There are no weekly benefits in respect of temporary or total disablement.
iii. ShouldanyparticipantsbefoundinbreachoftheseStandingRegulationstheinsurancearrangementsstatedin
this article will be null and void. The insurance is for personal accident only and does not cover machine, clothing,
equipmentetc.
iv. Nocoverisincludedinrespectofmachines,clothingorotherpersonalpropertyetc.
SIGNING-ON AND BRIEFINGS
SIGNING-ON
• SigningOnwilltakeplaceintheMediaCentreattheTTGrandstandbetween09:00and12:00Friday23rdAugust2019.
BRIEFING
• AcompulsorybriefingforallparticipantswillbeconductedbytheClerkoftheCourseintheOfficialVIPHospitality
SuitelocatedinNoblesParkat13:15on23rdAugust2019.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Signingonandbriefingopportunitiesoutsideofthedesignatedtimesmaybeavailableforthoseunabletomakethe
scheduledtimes.ThisshouldbeagreedinwritingwiththeMotorsportTeamnolaterthan31stJuly.
• Anyparticipantwhohasnotsignedonand/orattendedandthebriefingwillnotbepermittedtotakepartintheparade.

TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS
• TechnicalinspectionsofallmachinesandprotectiveclothingwilltakeplaceintheTechnicalInspectionbaysatthe
TTGrandstandbetween09:00and12:00onFriday23rdAugustandiscompulsory.
• ParticipantsmustpresentthemselvesatTechnicalInspectionfullyclothedforparading.Allclothingwillbechecked
forsuitabilityatsigningonandwillberejectedifitisnotacceptedbytheOrganisers.
HELMETS
• Helmetsmustbenoolderthan5yearsfromdateofmanufacture.Anyhelmetswiththedatestampordatecoderemoved
cannot be used.
• HelmetsshouldbeoffullfacedesignandbeACUapproved,andcertifiedtoUNECE22.05withthecertificationlabel
present.OverseasridersmayusehelmetscurrentlyapprovedbytheirownFMN.
• Thehelmetsvisorshouldbefittedandbefreeofscratchesordefectsthatcouldimpairtheridersvision.Aracevisor
capable of taking tear-offs must be used.
• Anydamagetothehelmetabovewhatcouldbeconsideredcosmeticonlywillrenderthehelmetunusable;furthermore
any damage to the helmet which has exposed the shell layer will render the helmet unusable or any visible damage to
theEPSinnershellwillrenderthehelmetunusable.
LEATHERS
• AllPersonalProtectiveEquipmentrequiresaCEmarkwhichisthemanufacturer’sstatementtheproductcomplieswith
relevantEUlegislation.
• Onepieceracingleathersmustonlybeused,eitherincowhideleather(min1.2mmthick)orkangarooleather(min0.9mm
thick),withdoublelayerleatherintheseat.Stretchmaterialreinforcedwitharamidfibresorsimilarcanbeusedbutmust
not be at main impact areas of seat, hip, back, knees, elbows and shoulders.
• Leathersmustbeinagoodphysicalconditionwithnomajordamagevisible.
• Leathersarerecommendedtobenoolderthan5yearsold.
• CEarmourmustbepresenttotheshoulder,elbowsandknees,eitherfittedtothesuitorwornunderneath.
• Anydamagemusthavebeenprofessionallyrepairedwithleatherofthesamethicknesscoveringalltears/holesandmust
be double stitched in place.
GLOVES
• Glovesmustbeofleatherconstructionwithfulllengthcuff.
• Doublecuffclosuremustbepresentandpreventtheglovepullingofftheridershandwhenfastened.
• Glovesshouldbefreeofanyvisibledamage.
• Nometalstudsshouldbepresentonthepalm.

BOOTS
• BootsmustconformtoEuropeanStandardEN13634.
• Fulllengthbootsmustbewornandshouldbe100mmhigherthantherider’sankle,eitherfixingunderneaththeriders
leathers or over leaving no skin exposed.
• Bootsmustbeingoodconditionwithnocracksorholes.Ifbootsaredamaged,theyshouldbereplacedandnotrepaired
by using other materials.
BACK PROTECTOR
• Theuseofabackprotectorisrecommended
OTHER
• Whilequalifyingandracing,participantsarerequiredtowearanidentificationdiscattachedaroundtheneckbyamaterial
approvedbyaTechnicalOfficialoranidentitylabelattachedontheinsideoftheleathersadjacenttothezip.Thediscor
identitylabelmustbepermanentlymarkedwiththewearer’sfullnameanddateofbirth.Identificationdiscsshallbeofa
durablematerialbetween20mmand25mmindiameterandhavingroundededgeswithnosharporraggedprojections.
• TheuseofKevlarsuitsisprohibited.
• TheRaceOrganisersalsoreservestherightforallorcertainaspectsofanyparticipant’spersonalequipmenttobechecked
at any time during the event should they deem it necessary to do so.
• Theuseoftitaniumkneeslidersandtoeslidersaspartofaparticipant’spersonalequipmentispermitted.
MACHINE PREPARATION
• Machinesmustbewellprepared.PleasedonotpresentanymachineforTechnicalInspectionwhichhasnotbeen
thoroughlycleanedandproperlypreparedinaccordancewiththehighstandardsexpected.Handlebarcontrolsand
levers must be tight on the bars. Tyre inflation caps are compulsory.
• Exhaustsilencingisnotcompulsoryforthisevent.
TYRES
• Tyresshouldbeasappropriatetothemachine.DuetothechangeableweatherconditionsaroundtheMountain
Course,onlytyreswithamanufacturers’treadpatternwillbeallowed.Noslicksorcutslickswillbepermitted.
ON-BOARD CAMERAS AND GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS
• On-boardcamerasorGPSmustbefittedbeforeattendingtechnicalinspectionsandmustbeapprovedbytheChief
TechnicalOfficer.Helmetmountedcameraswillnotbepermitted.

PARTICIPANT AND MACHINE CHANGES
• AchangeofparticipantwillbepermittedatthediscretionoftheClerkoftheCourseprovidedthattheparticipanthasthe
appropriate licence and permissions to take part in the Parade. Machine changes appropriate to the event may be made
prior to and during signing on. An official change of machine form must be completed.
PARADE STARTING PROCEDURE
• ParticipantsmustassembleintheParadePaddockat11:45tobetransferredtotheAssemblyAreaforassemblyat12:30
in numerical order as identified by signage installed in the Assembly Area. Event Officials will bring forward riders and
machines in numerical order for the start.
FLAG SIGNALSThefollowingflagsignalswillbeusedduringPracticeandRacesandmustbeimmediatelyobeyedbycompetitors:

Blackandwhitechequeredflag Finishofraceorqualifyingsession
Yellow and red striped flag Oil, water or other substance is affecting adhesion on this section of the Course

Yellow flag (TT Zero) TT Zero Challenge competitors must activate the horn on the motorcycle

Red flag Thequalifyingorraceisbeinginterrupted.Theredflagwillbewavedatnominated
marshal’sposts.Competitorswillstopandbedirectedbythemarshals.

UNAUTHORISED RIDING
• Onlytheparticipantispermittedtoridethemachine.Mechanicsandothersarenotinsuredagainstthirdpartyclaims.
RETIREMENTS DURING PARADE
• AllparticipantswhoretireduringtheparademustleavetheCoursewiththeirmachinesafelyattheveryfirstavailable
opportunity, at all times ensuring that they do not place themselves or their machines in such a position as to constitute
a danger to other participants. Riders must stay with their broken down machines until the official Roads Open Car
has passed.
• TouringbacktothePaddockwhilsttheparadeisunderwayisstrictlyforbidden.
• RidersareremindedthattheymayonlytravelinthedirectionoftheCourseandundernocircumstancesmayrideorpush
a broken down machine in the opposite direction until the official Roads Open car has passed at the end of the day.
• Ridersaresolelyresponsibleforrecoveryoftheirownmachines.
• Anyriderwishingtorideamachineonthehighwayatanytimemustwearahelmetandmustensurethatthemachine
complies with the road traffic laws and that the machine is covered by valid insurance for road use.
ALCOHOL TESTING
• RandomalcoholtestingofriderswilltakeplacepriortotheParade.Thepermittedleveliszero.Anyparticipantwho
tests positive will be prevented from taking part in the parade.
PADDOCK
• AseparateClassicTTParadePaddockwillbeestablishedandisavailableforuseonFriday23rdandMonday26th
August only.
• Passeswillbeissuedforonevehicleperparticipantandwillbesentoutinthepostpriortotheevent.
• OvernightstaysintheClassicTTParadePaddockarestrictlyprohibited.
• ParkingofallvehicleswillbeunderthecontrolofthePromoteranditsappointedagentandallparticipantsmustrespect
the instructions received.
• Allparticipantsandtheirassociatedpersonsmustatalltimescomplywithallthehealthandsafetyrequirements
applicable in the Paddock and displayed on the Race Office notice board.
• Itistheresponsibilityofallparticipantstoremoveanymetalfuelcontainerstotheskipsprovidedinthepaddock.
• Allparticipantsandteammembersareresponsiblefortheremovaloftheirrubbishfromparkingareas.Binsareprovided
for the disposal of bin bags.

REGULATIONS
PASSES
• Passesforoneparticipantandtwoguestswillbeissuedtoallparticipantsatsigning-on.
• Participantsareresponsiblefortheintegrityofthepasssystemwithintheirteam.Sanctionswillbeimposedonany
teamwhosemembersabusethepasssysteminanywayincluding:
o Sellingpasses
o Production, sale or distribution of forged passes
• Participantsarealsoresponsibleforthebehaviouroftheirguests.Guestsshouldbeadvisedthattheyareexpectedto
respect the instructions of the Organisers.
• Byacceptingtheissueofpassestheparticipantsaredeemedtoagreetoabidebythepassconditionsandtoundertake
the obligation to advise each person to whom a pass is issued of the pass conditions.
• Passesmayonlybeusedtogainaccesstotheareasindicatedonthefaceofit.Anypersonfoundwithinarestricted
area without the appropriate pass may be removed from the venue immediately and/or have any passes held by them
withdrawn.
• Passesmustnotberemovedfromtheirofficial lanyardsandmustbewornaroundtheneckofthepersontowhom
it is issued so as to remain clearly visible at all times.
• TheOrganisersatalltimesreservetherighttorefuseadmissiontothevenueoraccesstoadesignatedareatoany
person, notwithstanding that such person may have been issued with an appropriate pass.
• TheOrganisersreservetherighttorequestfurtherproofofidentityinadditiontoapass.
• PassesatalltimesremainthepropertyoftheOrganisersandmaybeissued,alteredorwithdrawnatanytimeatthe
absolute discretion of the Organisers.
CLASSIC TTSHOW AND SHINE EVENTTherewillbeaClassicTTShowandShineeventinNoblesParkonFriday23rdAugust,inan
areaadjacenttotheClassicTTParadePaddockstartingat12:00.CategoriesincludeBestRacing
Motorcycle, Best Classic Motorcycle and Vintage Road Motorcycle. Anyone wishing to enter can
do so on the day.
